2015 Nismo, looking for new exhaust recommendations
Hey guys,
2015 Nismo here. I am in the market for a new exhaust and am looking for something "out of this world loud". Any thoughts? I've been thinking of either the Armytrix system or the Tomei Expreme TI since i heard this one at a car meet recently and it is LOUD! :D However, I am concerned about the fit to my 2015 Nismo with the Tomei Expreme. I would prefer a dual tip exhaust system instead of the single tip like the Tomei... However, the Tomei was loud enough to my liking... And a good price. A lot of people say the Armytrix is too expensive for what it is, and would recommend the Fast Intentions exhaust however, from the videos I've seen... I don't think FI exhaust will be loud enough for my liking (even with the test pipes). Your comments are much appreciated!! |
You could buy the AAM short tails and s-line mid-pipe. Hack the resonators out of the mid-pipe, switch out the cats for test pipes. It'll be loud. Will it sound good? Who knows. But it'll be loud, that's for damn sure. Or, you could just add electric valve cutouts post catalytic converters which would give you tons of volume, though the power gains would likely be non-existant.

motordyne is pretty loud and sounds different than FI
|
Gthaus meisterchaft axleback, midpipe of your choice, long tube headers or replace cats
|
Motordyne or GTHAUS.
Fast Intentions, ARK, etc etc....all sound pretty similar. The above two have their distinct tones. |
I think you should go with Tomei because it's cheaper and full titanium. If you want dual tips then get the Meisterchaft full cbe. If either still aren't loud enough afterwards you can replace the cats like I mentioned above with some test pipes, or get long tube headers.
Tomei will be louder than the motordyne exhaust. I personally prefer armytrix over meisterschaft sound. |
I had the same dilemma a few years back. Even though the gains are average compared to FI, the sound is amazing. Motordyne Shockwave and Art pipes. This is my video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYDv8-r71VE

Tomei is a good choice for being extremely loud and still having gains.
If you are willing to spend the extra money, look into the Amuse R1000    |
The tomei will fit, and Have one for sale very slightly used if you want one ;)

Meisterschaft GT Haus.
With Motordyne resonated test pipes (ART pipes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IET_uW_RGvs With HFC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CW6XSuTOFDc&t=41s |
If I was looking for something other than FI, I would 100% go for the Meisterschaft GT Haus.

Thanks so much for your responses!
Hmm, I will give this one a thought but man does that Motordyne with the Art Pipes sound amazing as well. I've also considered the GTHaus Meistershaft. This one sounds amazing as well. I'll definitely give your responses consideration and wait about a month before the purchase... So far my top choices are (Not in any particularly ranked order): 1.Tomei Expreme TI: a. Exhaust: $1,000-1,500 b. Motordyne Y Pipe: $500 <--Y Pipe required for 15 Nismo c. AAM High Flow Cats: $450 2. Armytrix: a. Exhaust: $3,500 b. Burnt Tips: $400 c. 200PSI Cat $1,400 (Optional) 3. Motordyne Shockwave: a. Exhaust: $2,200 b. Additional Piping $500-700 4. GTHaus Meisterschaft (Titanium)... a. Exhaust: $3,500 - (Weight is also a factor to me) b. Additional Piping $500-700 (Considering Art Pipe for this one) c. Stillen Gen3 Intake: $500 (Optional) Gotta save up for the Stillen Supercharger (and Togunz's Air-to-Air kit) after this so cost is def a factor as well.... I'm not an expert regarding automobile knowledge so please take my thoughts with a grain of salt. Also, Please post more comments/suggestions as you wish as they are very much appreciated! |
Very loud one will make you tired, after a couple of months ..
Been there, done that! |
I have GT Haus Meisterschaft and Berk HFCs. You are welcome to come over and hear it live if that might help. NW burbs.
It's kinda loud sometimes. |
If you like the tomei then you should check out the soho single exit, it's a bit more affordable and the fit and finish is great. Sound is great too.

Just remember, Louder is not always Better!! :twocents:

Correct! I would like to consider the exhaust notes as well. But IMO these loud exhausts have awesome notes as well!
Loud + Great exhaust notes = awesome every time the gas is pressed :D |
Just remember that a very loud exhaust also brings much unwanted attention from the Police and the moody neighbours.

100% agree
I made the mistake of upgrading my Genesis Coupe with long-tube headers, thinking louder would be better. First couple of days driving it, I regretted it. It was so loud, you knew everyone could hear you go by in subdivisions from inside their homes or apartments. I didn't want to be "that guy" that everyone was annoyed by in the neighborhood.
I really like the tone the 370Z Nismo has, stock. Nice sound under acceleration but real quiet when coasting along. When you're on the highway on a long road trip, you really want quiet at cruising speed -- not a loud, constant drone of an exhaust. It will go from sounding cool to giving you fatigue and wanting to get out and take a break from driving. Quote:

Hey guys,
As an update... I think i'm going to get the Meisterschaft full exhaust system (Mid-Pipe + Y Pipe + Short tails). My next delimma is whether to go Test Pipes, Art Pipes, or HFCs... I'm leaning towards the HFCs however maybe I should test how loud it is with the stock cats first? I'm new to exhausts and not an expert in this area... but your opinion is much appreciated. |
Go with ART pipes

Hi guys
I'm rebooting this topic because I have also a 2015 Nismo (2016 in fact :) ) I have to keep sound under or regal to 100dB and due to pollution control I keep my OEM cat. So I want a titanium exhaust for weight saving and a better exhaust note. I'm almost decided about the following step : Amuse R1 Y pipe (resonated model : -6dB) Amuse R1000 exhaust My concern is Bulletproof told me it doesn't fit on my Nismo. Can someone confirm this information ? Someone on the forum already install it on a >2015 Nismo ? |
I also have a 2015 and took ages for me to pick an exhaust. I went with the AAM resonated short pipes and highflow cats. May change those to test pipes for some extra noise as I dont have to smog where shes registered. The NISMO already has an H-pipe so its already a true dual, so swapping this isnt a priority for me quite yet.
Personally, I have yet to find an exhaust note that I love as much as the AAM resonated short tails. Best of luck! |
