K&N Drop-in dyno video

The video shows the results for a G37, but I think it applies to the 370Z as well...

I did post mafs K&n'S and a straight pipe and the car totally woke up! It was a noticeable upgrade in performance.

Has anyone else seen similar results?

If you go to the tuning section you'll find thousands of intake n exhaust debates and experiences.

I heard the k&N filters have a coating of oil on them, does the oil get on the mafs after the install and affect the performance?

Loaded question, typically you see this when someone (Some overlooked at factory others done by owners when cleaning) has over oiled the filter. If it's looking like a "soul glo" when you go to install it, then likely yes you will end up cleaning maf wires. If you coat them as they were designed, you should be fine.

Yes, they are an oiled filter. The problem comes with folks who over oil them. Dripping wet is not desirable.

Okay so the factory coating on them is no problem then :)

barncobob 11-29-2016 05:24 PM

factory so fine after 5K miles, some guys say after cleaning 1st time only oil front (intake) side of filter
