Short Ram to Long Tube

Anyone changed from short ram to long tube? My car had a K&N short ram on it when I bought it. It looks nice and adds some grunt, but everything I read says long tube is the way to go. Would I get much improvement going to a long tube? Would it help low, mid or top end the most? Also, I am ecutek tuned with the short ram, would the ecu adjust for the change or would I need to re-tune just for changing the intake?

I have ecutek and changed from short to long. It really helps when the temps are hot. The short rams get the air intake temps really high while the long tubes help to keep the temps down, giving you more consistent gains.

Did you have to retune? Was it a noticeable change?

Guess I'll find out soon enough. Ordered the Nismo R tune kit.
