I think this will go "start out high, then negotiate down and settle out of court". Perhaps op is just hitting the defendant with a bigger hammer to push him into a final amount they can both live with.

Hey have a great weekend..... Matlock

We all will. None of us did so little research and homework that we hired the dumbest shop on the planet to install parts ( that even the most cursory google search would have shown as a bad choice) that left us with $30k paperweights so we would then have to spend a year in court to get nothing out of it since you asked for so much money the guy just gives you the finger and declares bankruptcy. Good luck with all of that. You can be as bitchy as you want, but your ignorance started this shitty chain of dominos. Had you posted before you let this guy blow up your car, this community would have steered you in the proper direction. Now we're trying to help you get something out of this, and you're being a twat. So, good luck with all of that.
Keep in mind, the lawyer is only trying to pump up your case so his cut is higher. He doesn't care beyond that. So take his advice with a grain of salt, since he's only out his time if he loses. You're out the money. |
Have a great day ;-)

Chuck Win Lose or Draw I will let you know how it turns out you will be the first one eye contact

Don't worry about it. I don't really care that you ended up doing all of this out of pocket because he declared bankruptcy rather than pay the judgement. |

Who sends a brand new 45k car into a shady shop to install a "bulldog tune"?! On top of that, his attitude shows a lot about who he is. No wonder he got screwed over. |
This isn't gonna end well.

I would suggest that you do NOT go after this person through you place of work as you could easily compromise/lose your job. I know it's difficult to wait but speak to your lawyer first. Good luck.

Another mistake that any civil lawyer worth his salt would've implored is..........#1 rule of fight club. Don't talk about fight club. Discussing the details of a case on a public forum compromises the case. Maybe only slight impact , maybe major. But at a minimum it gives the opposition insight.

Careful, he'll ask you where you got your law degree and then tell you to take care. :rofl2: Yeah, the first thing a good lawyer tells you to do is stfu about your case on social media. |
