Test Pipes, CEL and UpRev

Hello everyone, first post! :icon17:

So iv decided that the first mod on my Nismo is going to be either Motordyne ART Pipes or Berks Test Pipes to help open up the all to quiet stock Nismo exhaust. My concern is throwing the CEL since the cat is being taken out. Will getting a tune with UpRev get rid of the CEL code from the secondary 02 sensor? id prefer to not have my CEL on all the time so i can see if there is actually something wrong with my car.

A buddy of mine got a tune for his M3 and it removed the codes thrown from having test pipes installed and i wasn't sure if uprev did something similar.

The plan is to do all my bolt on mods and then get UpRev.

P.S: i couldn't find this anywhere on the forum or anywhere else on the internet so hopefully this hasn't been covered already

If you buy Art Pipes you won't get the CEL, I've been running them for a couples months and haven't had it pop up yet

If you plan on getting Uprev get the cable and remote tune as you add your bolts. When you get to the point where your either full bolt or as bolt on as you're gonna get then you go to get it dyno tuned to tie it all together. Then if you have issues in the future you can simply plug in your cable and read your codes. The way some people do it by only getting the license and then paying for a new dyno tune every time they get another mod is kinda awkward because the dyno time could pay for even more mods. I went a step further and upgraded my cable to a tuner cable which gives me even more latitude but that is a tad bit more expensive.

There is always a chance that you may throw a code without a tune. It won't happen very often and you can simply invest in an Bluetooth odbii reader and a phone app that can reset it, which would be much less costly then a tune.
