Test pipe rasp...WTF? Need input
I'm on my second set and looking to buy the third... My first set were Berk non-resonated, they sounded like crap and had a ton of rasp so I tried Beluga racing resonated TP's they're a little better but still have rasp so they're coming off.
I don't want to spend the money for the Ark's, I found these which look like Motordyne knock off's. Can anyone chime in and help me eliminate the rasp Thx |
what exhaust are you running?
Edit: I see Borla. That's your issue. There are no midpipe resonators. Get a couple 12" Vibrants, or even maybe just 9" and have a shop weld them in. Or you can sell your CBE and get one with resonated midpipes. |
Really, so its been the exhaust this whole time? Will adding those quite it down more?

Yes.

There are already threads covering this btw...

Test pipes + VQ37VHR = rasp.

What about a resonated CBE with the ARK test pipes
|
As long as the testpipes are resonated, you have a good chance with eliminate rasp with a resonated CBE
|
Cool thx

ERZ makes a cat similar to the common ones on the forum. I have a great set up Stillen CBE and ERZ hfc (little little rasp) but more of a deep bass tone. really nice on up/downshift

Embrace the sound of the vq...

I like the rasp. Makes the Z different. If you don't like the rasp, buy a v6 mustang. :icon17: |
You ain't heard nothing until you run test pipes and short tails...and it doesn't matter if the tp are resonated or not!!! If you're ears aren't ringing you ain't trying hard enough lol...
