I went with the 18" resonated version. The highway drone is negligible...of course, I also like to drive with music pretty loud too.

Nice! :driving:

I'm looking at 1cleanZ's EXACT setup, RHFC + non-res. That's the kind of sound I've been after for over a year lol

I'm running the AAM catback with 5" tips for the Nismo. I LOVE the sound as it's not obnoxiously loud and I feel this is how a sports car should sound from the factory. The quality of the kit is impeccable too. Which makes me wonder...

How come there isn't much talk about the AAM catback here on the forums? Everyone is always talking about Fast Intentions or ARK. I'm sure those are great systems and if I had one of those instead, I'm sure I'd be in line to advocate that choice. The AAM isn't cheap also and is in the same price range as the FI system. HP gains with the AAM, from what I've read and researched here, are in the same ballpark (maybe a little less) as the FI system.

So I'm just wondering why AAM doesn't seem to get as much support as the others

Because the FI TDX system is just that good. Why go for second best?

i agree that in regards to price point, quality of construction, and power gains they are in the same ballpark.

however it's an exhaust system so for these 2 systems it comes down to only 2 ways to decide.

1. the sound. that's what it's really all about. although AAM has options on single and dual plus a few oher option they do not have the customizable options of the system the FI has. also I've heard every version of the FI system and every version of the AAM system and PERSONALLY I like the FI sound better.

2. is the customer service. I PERSONALLY have never had an issue with AAM but I have seen some on here say they did

FI really does have the best customer service I've dealt with in any aspect of buying a product car or non-car related.

Then that makes me ask what makes it "that good"? Saying the AAM is second best is fine, but what is this based on?

That's basically what I was looking for. Good info!

I had both system's but sold my AAM when I went tt and I wanted a 3" exhaust system that match the twins and as FPenvy said I received good customer service from both, but FI is absolutely outstanding. As far the sound goes they are both excellent but different. I love the noise that comes out of my setup and I can tell you both of the will turn heads.

Yeah, I'm happy with my current setup with AAM mid-pipe with short tails.

I recently received my FI non-res HFCs.......however, haven't installed them yet. I just ordered today the AAM axle-back exhaust to replace my AAM short tails. Will wait for the axle-back to arrive before I install both the FI HFCs and new axle-back. I wanted to replace the axle-back due to Texas vehicle inspection requirement that vehicle must have an exhaust, plus with both installed will hopefully give me better low end torque and HP when I get it tuned.

FI gets the most post love, AAM is also a great shop. I have their axle back with a NISMO H pipe (lets call it frankexhaust) and am pleased. Could be a bit louder but I prefer less loud over more loud and like the deep exhaust note over the mid-range rasp that I hear on all the FI set ups (could be because of TPs etc...). HFCs would wake it up but I have kept mine stock due to not wanting the natural hiss and I don't want to deal with a sensor CEL.

Both companies make quality parts, great welds etc...as noted its then subjective. To my ear the AAM setups are a bit more pleasing then FI based on my tastes.

Its good to have choices :)

I seriously spent two months trying to decide to go with FI or AAM. Ended up going to AAM because I liked its tone better

The overall experience. FI build quality, customer service, sound, ease of installation, fantastic looks, number of customers.......

When it comes to sound, to each his own.

barncobob 04-21-2016 11:25 AM

sound is a personal issue, tried the FI, too loud for me..the OEM nismo CB is the best for me..
