do you happen to know what kind of chem to remove? I think I will call HKS usa and get more details on this intake, I high end company like this with no dynos of any sort and total lack of rich information. This is rediculous.

I thought the dyno numbers didn't matter and that it was a Gucci Purchase?

JK!

Anyway, if you can't find these numbers, what does that tell you? Search online for Stillen Gen3 and you get hundreds of links to performance info...:ugh2:

Haha it's ture though why else would this intake cost so much??? Its name brand like what my first statment said. You would think if your spending 5x more for a part it would at least put down some decent numbers. I thought HKS is supposed to be a bad *** company??? I guess just not in the intake side of things. If you have a better Analogy for HKS let me know. : ) Im sticking to my expensive clothing analogy.

Just placed an order for this intake so as soon as I get it I will post pictures for all to see. Does anyone know how much a dyno run cost in Texas??

theDreamer 11-23-2009 03:42 PM

Where in Texas?
Dyno dynamics in Houston I used was 85USD for three runs (so add 8.25% for tax).

JB-370z 11-23-2009 06:38 PM

Thats not a bad price. Should I wait untill 1500 miles before I do the dyno??

theDreamer 11-23-2009 06:40 PM

All depends if you care about "break in" procedure. I gradually took my car above in the RPMs as I got closer to 1,500 miles, was on the dyno around 2,000 the first time I think.

Nice, now are you going to do before and after dynos to see what the gains are or just after the instillation?

Yes I pan on it if I can find a place to do a run for under 100. Even if I dont get that much power out of this set up I wont be that mad, I plan on selling them later on after 30,000 miles and adding turbo or supercharger. I am thinking of getting a vented hood so I can try to get a little bit of cold air to them. Does anyone think this is a good idea. Also found a place to buy a HKS ex. for 1780 plus tax. in the h-town but I want to do a dyno before I add the intake.

Nice! A vented hood is never a bad idea, especially if you plan to do any track days. I'm pretty sure it gets hot down there so you'll want all the cooling at the track you can get. Doubt you'd really need it for daily street driving but still I don't see it hurting you.

JB-370z 11-23-2009 08:01 PM

My question I had with the vent hood cooling is: What about rain?? Because it will be a daily driver untill about 30,000 or so!

theDreamer 11-23-2009 08:04 PM

Light rain will be nothing, but the heavy rain Texas can get during certain parts of the year will be bothersome. Do you have a second car for on heavy raining days?

JB-370z 11-23-2009 08:07 PM

No I dont but I drive from garage to work which is on the 9th floor parking so yes totally covered as well. Just worried about to and from work thats it(about 2 hours of driving, 1 hour there 1 back)! Also I think it might make alot easier to steal. Sorry for spelling on Iphone.

theDreamer 11-23-2009 08:16 PM

I normally would not recommend a vented hood on a DD, maybe one you are closer to turning into your weekend toy at 30,000 miles.
