370z exhaust

What exhaust is everyone running for there 370z's?
I'm looking to buy a exhaust for my Z soon. There is just so many, I want something very loud deep and awesome soon with the best horsepower. I was looking at aam and fast intentions, stillen sounds awesome but not very loud. If anyone has any inputs or sound videos that would be great!

abdulisraddd 02-04-2016 08:32 PM

Fast Intentions is one of the fan favorites here on the forums. They're completely hand made with top-notch quality.

That's what I run (their resonated test pipes and cat-back w/ 18" resonators), and I couldn't be happier!

Zoom370z 02-04-2016 09:46 PM

Is yours loud with the 18" resonators ?

Nope. The system is a little loud at first on cold start, but it quiets down after about 10-15 seconds (that's normal). It's not very loud with normal driving, but when you floor it, it screams!

Zoom370z 02-04-2016 10:07 PM

Cool I want something very loud ... I want to hear the fast intentions with no resonators but the videos I hear don't do justice

If you want loud, then I'd recommend either the FI Long-tube headers or non-resonated test pipes, paired with their non-resonated cat-back. And yea, videos don't ever do justice for any of these exhaust set-ups.

Is there any sort of Z community near where you're located? If so, I'd recommend getting in touch with some of the locals to hear some set-ups in person.

You want loud :)? I need to upload a video of my exhaust....my exhaust will top most on loudness lol. I have to keep my car under 2700 RPMs for it to not get to the point that most are at full throttle. It sounds beautiful at idle and I would not change it for most exhausts for the 370. It also apparently gives pretty good gains as well. I have not personally dynoed yet or a before/after.

Top Speed..............
Check out "My Nismo Updated" build thread, I have a few sound clips in there. Its pretty loud and throaty, clean, not raspy and I love it.

im in Placerville, i jhave FI 18" resonated, you can drive over if interested in hearing it..bit of a drive though

somms 02-05-2016 02:41 PM

I have a FI catback w/ 18" resonators along with resonated FI HFCs and I'm in love with the sound of it. It's a very distinct exhaust at low RPMs, and as mentioned before, when you open it up it will wake up the neighbors.

But if you're looking for obnoxiously loud while still sounding good, google "meisterschaft 370z" for videos.

Nick M 02-05-2016 03:58 PM

I would start with AAM short tails, if you just want a loud, deep exhaust.

Start there, its the cheapest option, quality materials etc. If that ends up not being loud enough for you, you can opt for a mid pipe, or test pipes and go from there.

AAM short tails alone are enough to be too loud for most people, as its basically a muffler delete with tips.

jburch 02-05-2016 04:39 PM

I actually got some AAM Short tails if you'd like them. :tiphat:

SS_Firehawk 02-05-2016 07:33 PM

AAM short tails and mid pipe is deep until 3k, then it hits a higher pitch, more GTResque in the mid, then higher pitched up top. Fast Intentions is deeper overall, but not as loud. Removing the cats will make everything loud though. Just be careful as it can introduce rasp if your exhaust doesn't have much for mufflers or resonators. I'd recommend resonated testpipes, HFC, or resonated HFC. If you replace them with long tubes, do yourself a favor and get at a minimum a F.I. exhaust with 12" resonators, or the AAM with the axleback muffler.

This one gives you a better idea of how the exhaust tips look on the car:

High quality build; sounds great at WOT; does not drone on the highway...

Essentially, but they are called ART pipes. Advanced Resonance Tuning pipes.

If you want loud
Test Pipes (resonated or not your choice) or Long tube headers
Garageline or AAM midpipe
AAM Short Tails

Well over 90db cold starts, WOT may cause temporary loss of hearing to nearby drivers.

wideglideleon 02-08-2016 12:17 PM

I have Berks HFC and Stillen catback loud when started and when stomping it .
Switching to FI CF non resonated tracking data says out for delivery today.
I'll post the difference when I change them out this week.

ItsOmega 02-08-2016 05:12 PM

I have cf FI exhuast 18" res with art pipes.

It's should be noted that even though FP says he has a straight pipe, F.I. doesn't make one, he only thinks he has one. All FI catbacks have a muffler, the only option is the resonator. So in reality he has a muffled exhaust. Not to mention it's an 7AT, those never sound right.

i do have the only one but it is surely FI approved :tiphat:

also there are 2 muffler options (SS of CF) and 3 Res option (non, 12", 18")

and the transmission doesnt change the exhaust note. nice try at an AT dig though :shakes head:

Davectr 02-15-2016 02:36 PM

Mines also a 7AT, sounds ok to me
