They have good exhaust manifolds and great performing TT kits. As good as the FI TT kits I hear.

 I could say I've heard great things about GTM, too :eekdance:

I was really looking for some hard evidence.

Yeah it's a great kit... such potential trouble :ugh2:

Hey Patrick, let me guess - this was a one-off preproduction model and in no way indicative of the finish of the current production item, right? Nothing to see here, move along?

Tell us again why yours is in any way better than the alternatives? It looks bad, the inside is chock full of casting imperfections and it makes very little power compared to other options. Let's be real - you could have very easily cleaned up that manifold. You just chose not to. Your company looked at that and found it perfectly acceptable to send to a customer in that state.

I am so Tired of Certain Vendors trying to bamboozle us with their Snake Oil products like we some dumb-asses that believe everything that glitters is Gold. Get the fcuk out of here with those shady business practice.

They state that it will make power all the way to redline and that was not the case - it flatlined. It did pick up a little power down low but nothing to what was advertised and Jon Parham can agree. We did not test any aftermarket GTR manifolds such as the AMS manifold or Greddy to confirm if they make power - we only tested using the kit that they sell. "

Got a link?

Also, any response to the pics posted above?

So the issues on the inside of the manifold would be fine once he has it powdercoated?

The manifolds are both pressurized and flow tested following the manufacturing process, which means that the cast lines should not pose any threat. That being said, it does appear that the particular manifold in question may have more excess casting material than usual. I've sent the owner a PM so that we can get this taken care of for him.

I, myself, am not personally in-charge of shipping or product inspection, though I do agree that this should be addressed. I'll be sure that an appropriate solution is offered to this customer.

My buddy made 790whp and never flat lined with the rjm conversion. All those flat line were due to single turbo sets up i believe.

Incorrect turbo selection for proposed application is more likely the culprit than actual number of turbos.

VSS370z 02-15-2017 12:34 PM

I am sorry but its never the same when you have a good product but bad customer support ones you give them the check. Fast Intentions makes a great turbo kit and the customer service and support i would say is even better which is something that with AAM has been 50/50 for quite a few. In fact Boosted Performance single turbo kit is another great option with great service and support from Sasha if i remember his name right. You should have call either one of this and you shouldn't have worry of what could happen afterwards. Sheers :tiphat:

FPenvy 02-15-2017 12:54 PM

Unless you have a 7at then Sasha doesn't care one bit since you're not a potential customer lol

This thread isn't about turbo systems.

BTW AAM have been helpful and great at communicating with me!

Guys why is everyone being haters? They should be greatful that a company like AAM are going out of their way to continue to make and research into products into our beloved Zs. Why does everyone expect a company to make and release a product that craps out high HP at low cost, the most ideal situations can't always be created, a company can only try to get their as best as possible. Not everything can be perfect, even if there arn't any defects in the product.

Anways waiting on some AAM products myself, hoping it is as good as I hear it is! I have faith in them.

Peace guys...

this dude endorsing the product is all you the warning you need not to buy it

Why is that. I am not really trying to endorse it as I have not had any AAM products used in my Z yet. I am just going by what I have heard and I hope the products are as good as I hear they are when I get them.

I took the plunge because I have faith in them. I could be totally shocked and dissapointed, or I could be pleased. I don't know yet till I have the kit and installed.

Will be about another 2-3 months till I have it all done I rekon.

Any updates on the issues, manifold owners? Any one of you decide to bite the bullet and install it yet or manage to take it to the dyno?
.. or will this be another long wait?

My intake is currently in transit and will arrive next week. But it'll be installed and tuned together with AAM TT kit. So, no individual dyno from my side
