A little problem...
Need some ideas how to remove the rest of the studs from the pipe so I can put in new bolts.

You have a few options,
1) Sears.com 2) try to drill it out.. 3) Vice-Grips and blow torch 4) Buy lots of beer and invite all your friends over, get them drunk and watch them attempt to get them out..:icon17: Good luck... :tiphat: |
Are the studs welded or do they have a knurl under the head?
|
take it to a machine shop, they can do anything with metal
|
They look like pressed in studs. If they are, you should be able to knock them out with a hammer.

The stud is spot welded in. Torch it.

I would cut and grind down flush
Use a punch to get it centered and after grab s nice sharp drill bit and go at it , use lube and keep speed slow |

What is that pipe? Looks like a mid-pipe of some sort. Kevin at Austin Z Clinic just hammered my broken exhaust bolts out with a metal hammer (small sledge like Kenchan suggested). That's what I'd try first. Nice and cheap

Aren't the non-Nismo exhaust bolts tack welded just the same? You should be able to beat them out with a hammer. Five or six solid blows with a small sledge should do the trick. Set the pipe in a mounted vice and close it (not too tight) to where the flange is sitting on top of the vice. Hold the pipe securely in one hand and hammer away with the other. Goggles for safety.

Problem solved!
Bought new Nismo S-tune mid pipe for 80 :icon17: And btw the bolt was welded on my oem mid pipe. Bastard Nissan :horse: |
