Akuma intake

Idk if this is the right place to post this so if it's in the wrong place then mods please move. But on to the topic. Does anyone make an intake like the akuma anymore or is that something that I would need to get custom made? And also, having an intake with that size piping, would I need a bigger throttle body or are the stock throttle bodies big enough?

The Akuma intake is an awesome piece, indeed. Almost picked one up a couple of years ago. Sadly, this is pretty much a one-of-kind intake and not many have it.

If Presto ever gets off his *** and goes FI, you might be able to snatch his up.

On to your answer... No point in going large like that and having to get a tune to make it work unless you do it all the way. Larger throttle bodies would likely be a good decision. May not net you much in terms of power gains (if any at all) but response may be enhanced slightly. Small cost compared to the intakes (5-600 + $1,500 for tune and dyno + a few hundred for a throttle body).

I only say that because of the hassle of going large. If you don't want to deal with it (most don't) then get the G3s or the Nismo CAI.

Good luck!

I believe only 4 sets were ever made and I only know of 2 sets being still in existence.

I met the one guy with the other set this past year at zdayz

I do believe set 001 were destroyed in a wreck
I have set 002
and then the guy I met has 003 or 004.

and tigger even if I go boost these intakes would go up on the wall with my carbon fiber FI mufflers lol they're just beautiful and even more rare than pieces like the amuse titanium intakes :tiphat:

You can look at AAM intakes as an alternative. Just remove the maf sleeve when you get a tune.
