turbo xs test pipes

Anybody knoes the inside diameter of those 60mm or 68mm(2,5") ? TurboXS Test Race Cat Pipes Nissan 350Z 07-08 370Z 09+:eBay Motors (item 310153660339 end time Nov-03-09 14:40:53 PST)

Those do not look right, i'd stay away from them. If you want test pipes, go with the Berks or AAM's.

nogoodname 10-24-2009 11:18 AM

probably 2.5"

SOLISIMO 10-24-2009 01:27 PM

if you are looking into saving money go with ichiba test pipes

JoeD 10-24-2009 01:54 PM

LOL...eBay FTW!

Snakebite202 10-24-2009 02:23 PM

SOLISIMO 10-24-2009 02:33 PM

When you can find legit parts on there, thats fine, but when you find products that claim they are good for multiple platforms with different chassis, then thats an issue. And as far as finding parts cheaper, bet I got you beat :)

The fact that it states they are for the 350/370Z, if a listing is going to be posted, they shouldnt be posted with multiple platforms, now if this company is producing them for both cars, then create a seperate item page to avoid confusion. The 350Z and 370Z exhaust configurations are COMPLETELY different. Reminds me of the 70whp chip thats good for Z cars from 89' to 2009.

listing it for both cars since it fits both cars is perfectly correct

we have an ebay store, and list various downpipes and exhausts for WRX and STi - because they fit both cars. Saves us from having to pay for 2 separate listings, and increases exposure.

you sure about that? While Ichiba isn't exactly a top tier firm, it would not be the first time I heard of someone claiming a part was theirs, that wasn't

we sell their stuff btw - their test pipes are quite nice, but unfortunately only fit the DE's, not the HR's. If there is an HR application, it's not on their site

SOLISIMO 10-25-2009 03:58 PM

I know for a fact, I was the first in the states with that and the y pipe, it looked nice too, I have Berks now lol

The problem is that some people dont know the mark up "other" parts have bc of name, so when an affordable parts comes out its automatically crap bc its not marked up. I love people that pay more for name ie HKS:tiphat:

I thought the 350zHR/370z has the same test pipes/hfc's and only those parts for the exhaust. I dunno about the y-pipe though.

XLevel 10-27-2009 08:35 PM

Thanks for backing me up Z1. nogoodname is also correct. The the 07-08 350Z and 370Z all use the same test pipes. If you scroll down the listing you will see that under applications it clearly lists the models that part fits.

While I don't have the piping diameters handy, I can provide those tomorrow and will add it to future listings. These are TurboXS and high quality parts, not some junk. We use eBay as an advertising tool to drive traffic to our site.

Hope this clears up everything.

Jermaine@VF 11-02-2009 10:22 AM

Piping Diameter is 2.5 inches

Thanks,

Jermaine~

B1nks 11-02-2009 10:26 AM

who actually makes the part ? Does TurboXS actually make the parts in house or are they made by another company in another country and shipped over ?

TurboXS makes their own parts. Parts are produced in Australia that started with Blow Off Valves and Boost Controllers in 1999. Eventually moving onto other Performance Accessories.

just an FYI as I talked to Ichiba Friday, asking about their HR testpipes - they don't make any

you might want to contact whomever sold them to you as an Ichiba part, unless you just got names confused with another brand (alot of brands sound the same nowadays)

Help

Guys, I have a 2008 350Z, and just got TurboXS Test pipes. Had them installed and the make some sort of rattling sound at the connection to the Y-Pipe. Its not raspy in the exhaust note. I was wondering if anyone has some advice on what couldbe causeing the issue. The tuning shope I had it installed at tried to feed me some **** that it was the exhasut tips. Could it be the y-pipe itself or the gaskets connecting to the y-pipe?

any advice would be great.

Could be a loose bolt/nut. Could be an exhaust leak. Could be a loose O2 sensor. If they aren't competent enough to stop a simple rattle, you should take it some place else. Not trying to bash them, but if it were the tips, they could prove it to you fairly easily and also fix it. Hope this helps. :tiphat:

Me and a buddy went through those checks and found that it was none of those. Seals were tight, gaskets were good, bolts were torqued down. We subsequently discovered that the TurboXS Test pipes have a 2.5" ID and the stock Y-pipe has a 60MM ID with a 60MM gasket. What I am thinking is that 2.5 dumping into 60MM is causeing that connection to rattle. I am going to get a 2.5ID Y-pipe and see if that will fix. What do ya'll think?

Thanks for the help.

Txs makes some alright stuff, nothing too great, nothing too bad.

If it's a rattle, I'm not sure how a piping diameter of such small difference could possibly cause it. 60mm = 2.36" If you haven't already, use a large pry bar and put pressure on different spots in the exhaust. This should help you detect where the sound is coming from.

That sounds like a good idea. I am going to try that this week. Thanks a ton!!
