Used exhaust questions (Fast Intentions)
I don't know jack sh*t about exhaust setups, or how to identify them, so I would like to ask you guys. I found this from a seller and i might buy them
Fast Intentions high flow cats and axel back mufflers (no mid pipe) Now my questions are: How loud will these be? How much HP gain will these be? How much would you pay for them? http://i.imgur.com/n0EIvYS.jpg http://i.imgur.com/NuPP3l6.jpg |
The high flow cats are FI, but the are not part of the exhaust. It's a separate item.
The other part is not FI. It is not the full exhaust. I think they are called short tails (made by several manufactures) and are meant to replace the muffler section of the stock exhaust. I think the combination of short tails and FI HFC would make for a pretty loud set up. FI exhaust is a cat-back exhaust (everything from cats back). It should include a mid-pipe (with various size resonators), muffler cans and the tips. http://www.the370z.com/members/josh8...481-fi-tdx.jpg I recommend you do some research in the exhaust section. |

$0. I would not run a loud exhaust.

You should check FI site for the price of those cats brand new and verify how many miles are on them then make the decision of what u feel comfortable paying. I would get short tails brand new. And like cooltoy said that's going to be really loud.

They'll be loud for sure. You're removing the muffler section. HP gains? Not sure there is even any from the short tails.
You'll prob gain 5-10hp from those high flow cats. |

Just remove your stock muffler, if you want to get an approximate idea of how it will sound.
|
My guess, and I am not an expert, that it would probably sound something similar to these.
|
Wouldn't pay more than 450 tbh

Washers man! Washers!

I've got short tails with the stock mid pipe resonators and Ark resonated hfc. It's loud but cool loud. No hp gains really from that but the hfc with get you around 30whp and louder with a little rasp and hiss

30 hp? Not happening. Not even with headers. Nothing wrong with freeing up the exhaust though. :tiphat: |
Well, your right, i was thinking wrong, more like 20hp. Average stock is around 275ish and i just recently put down 295

You'll need ear plugs, LOL You looking to run non res-HFC's and not mufflers OUCH. :)
Why not just look for a cat back, and get HFC's later? |

From looking at the picture I can tell you that is not our exhaust system. That is an axle back or "short tails" design. Not sure who the manufacturer is. As for the other parts pictured, those are not High Flow Cats, they appear to be Resonated Test Pipes. Any close up pictures? Thank you, - Kevin |

but many mimic FI so a better pic would be easier to confirm the make. |
i think those are top speed resonated tp's
|
I ran the AAM short tails with test pipes before and it was annoyingly loud. Sold them to a forum member who sold them again short after. 450 ish is a decent price though
