Just curious what issues did you have with it? A couple i heard in person sounded very good. It's one I'm considering getting next, currently I have Ark Grip and DT-s

Also intrested in this , leaning towards fast intentions over motordyne atm

I noticed the same thing when I got my art pipe with the nismo exhaust. it's an annoying rasp not a good rasp( at least mine was) hated driving so I started looking into it and basically there is no break in period any more with the new versions. I called tony and he explained that was only on his older models.

so I got an exhaust and it changed it but it's still slightly there just a manageable tone now and I like it.
one thing that could change it tho would be getting a tune because of air fuel ratio being off.
Personally I think a tune is a must after the cats come off.
just what I think

My vote for a Motordyne Shockwave since you already have their Art pipe and manifold.

Well guys, Congrats, When i went to sleep last night I decided to get a new exhaust.
I wake up today morning and your comments have put me back to where i started :P

So i have a decision to make before this saturday lol
I have spoken To Kevin from Fast Intentions, I got frustrated waiting for an email and called them.
I am primarily interested in their TT kit and their 7AT upgrade.(He hinted that we would have more info in a week or so)

12 weeks is the approximate for the CBE.I need to make a decision by saturday the latest.
Is there any other exhaust i can buy ? I am not great at waiting and 3 months listening to my fart can + stock exhaust might get tiring.

And i need an exhaust that supports my Twin turbo needs.Apparently my exhaust design is not recommended for turbo and i should go for True Duals.
Is there any other brand you recommend which is also great.
My exhaust needs to sound deep and just loud enough to piss off the guy trying to keep up with me. I dont have any intention of waking my neighbors.
Something deep, For reference reasons read attached sound note

blumblumpshhblumblumpsh and thn i floor it and it goes vhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

If you do not get the reference, Please gimme a alternative to Fast Intentions.

You need to wait for the carbon build up to lessen the rasp. Take about 2 weeks. Just like a rifle

I do hope you are right. For some reason I am adamant about keeping them.
Lets see how it turns out i guess

Aw come on.
It sounds nice and pretty much what i like. But really that price tag ???
Thats a hefty price tag when apparently the best exhaust out there costs 600$ less.

The ARK is silent too i hear, After Akrapovic i guess i am done with the extreme silent ones

Zbrah 01-27-2015 12:17 AM

"The best" is very subjective. You have not heard either an Ark or Motodyne in person. I have heard them all several times, couldn't swing the price for a new E370 so I jumped on a chance to own an Ark, somehow I ended up with an Ark Grip and DT-s but one day I will upgrade to an E370.

By the way an Ark Grip is not silent by any means when you put the pedal down.

Leroydsouza 01-27-2015 12:43 AM

Interesting. Have u heard the Akrapovic ? Can you compare ? I would want something louder than my current setup.
A little at least. Don't really need some obnoxious sound.

What do you think. Is Motordyne really worth that ?

Zbrah 01-27-2015 02:20 AM

Sorry, I have not heard an Akra exhaust in person, from youtube videos it sounds pretty good, and I do love those carbon tips. I didn't think the price tag on a motordyne would be an issue for you, if I remember correctly isn't your Akra exhaust in the $2K range?

Leroydsouza 01-27-2015 04:00 AM

Haha 2.7 with the carbon yes.
I am saving for the tt kit and shipping really hurts.
Thinkin of all that..idk wt to do lol

So i have a friend locally selling fast intentions (The Catch : Its from a g37 coupe)
Would i be able to attach the mufflers to the akrapovic midpipe ?
The Y pipes can be swapped, But the midpipe is the only concern

I still think Fast Intention has the clearest, deepest tones

Maybe provide a video haven't gone through the entire thread but it's most likely rasp/or hissing sound for not having cats.

Great thread to find thanks to Google. Sooo just picked up my Z. Has ART pipes and stillen exhaust. Had such a nasty rasp I bought greddy Evo RS single and..... Boom still there but improved. I wonder what version pipes the owner before me got from dynosty...? I'm considering buying a cheap y pipe and adding 2 resonators to see if that gets rid of it. Next move is longtube headers which isn't the cure but a win win.
