Reasonable Place for Window Tints?

Always had my cars tinted at TNT. But they want a ridiculous price for our 370Z's. Quoted same price as my friends Mazda 3 and he has larger windows to cover, plus his has 7 windows!!! Any place else who has a good reputation?

You can try Al's Tinting....though, even though TNT was expensive for my Z...they really have been the best so far that I have dealt with.

There might be a Christmas sale coming up, not too sure if you want to wait that long though.

Try Protint Hawaii. Thats where i got mines and they did a really good job. Check the good reviews on Yelp

I had my whole Z done for $180. They removed the previous tint that was 30% and I had them put on 5%-

I think that was a reasonable price. They will always bargain. Its worth seeing if they will discount you. Anywhere you go...

Thanks guys. Ended up getting it tinted at Tint Zone in Kalihi. Their work looks excellent and the price was reasonable. Got the darkest legal tint, allows electronics to go through and blocks UV rays up to 50%. Price for the Z excluding the windshield was $200. Windshield would be an additional $120, got that scheduled for next week.

T&T was asking $360 for the car and $190 for the windshield.

Hey you did well my friend! Especially in Honolulu. Prices there are 20% higher then where i live. Make sure you take advantage of their warranty options. If it bubbles, you should feel 100% confident that you can go back in and get it done again-no charge.

I have had it happen once and didnt get anything in writing.

Anyways, great job

hey i have 5% all around but i was wondering where i can go to get it to pass inspection?
35% what the hell is that ish (k-bay)

NickTurnon 10-31-2012 10:52 AM

Pass inspection?

Did you get a fixit ticket?

No I have a 300zx right now and I want to ship my 370 over but i don't want to have to rip it off like I did with the 300. In other words I need to know of a shop that passes easily

Unfortunately if you are coming here, you are going to have to redo it eventually. There might be some shops that might do it for you, but with enforcement being stricter, it eventually will be a pain in hunting for a shop to pass you.

Not saying that it cant be done...just a heck of a lot of hassles in getting it done.

I agree and understand. Buuutt...on the other hand when we are the pedestrians the tint laws here help for us to make sure that the driver makes eye contact with us and for "our" kids safety sake...the ability to see someone in the car makes a difference.

Good and bad. But for the safety of ourselves and others....just gotta roll with it.

It's legal to tint the windshiled? I've been searching for the Hawaii Windshield Tint laws, but can't find it.

It's only a clear tint to block the harmful UV rays out (supposedly blocks 40% of these rays) and keep the car cooler when parked in the sun, there is no color to it.

I'm too lazy to put up the sun shade for the windshield. :icon17:

Tint on Oahu

I had my ceramic tint done at TNT near the airport. Paid $325 for my Nismo to get 35% Llumar tint, and that's with a return-customer discount because they did my condo. Loved what they did on my condo but am not sure about my Z ... . Interior was pristine when I took it there, dirty when I got it back. Am still not sure if they did the rear quarter windows or not ...
