Hey guys, I think we were very clear from the beginning that we are shooting for June/July. Keep in mind that this is a goal and many things really have to come together in order to give an exact time frame and a lot of it is simply beyond our control. The only way to give an exact 100% definite time is once all the parts are on the shelf and all we have to do is package them and start shipping kits out. Unfortunately, since we don't have a foundry in house, it is impossible to do that. So basically, it is a waiting game. To give you an example of how things go, we were planning on releasing our high volume oil pan a couple weeks ago. The oil pan is completed and all we are waiting for is the baffling inside the pan. The manufacturer told us that their bending machine was out of commission and it took them 3 weeks longer than they initially told us to get us the first part. This is just one example of how things go. The good news is that all the design work and test fitting has been done. All we're waiting on is for the production parts to arrive. Personally, I think things are moving at a great speed considering the complexity and the quality of the parts that we are making.
On a brighter note, as you guys may recall that we only redesigned one manifold to avoid drilling the head. We are pleased to let you know that we have actually designed the left side manifold with a similar design to the one we showed here a couple weeks ago. Also, all our O2 sensor housings for the internal wastegate 2.5" outlet and the external wastegate 3" downpipes are being cast in stainless steel. These are some of the extra touches that we are doing to add a little extra icing on the cake. In addition, we designed our 3" downpipes to be modular so that you can switch from 3" test pipes to 3" high flow cats with ease. Just as an aside, our GTR conversion manifold is going to be done around the same time as the turbo kits are ready to start shipping. Overall, we are doing the best we can to get this new kit in your hands as quickly as possible. |
awesome thanks for the update. cant wait! gonna have to get this manifold conversion too... haha

We are working extremely hard to get everything done on time. However, there is only so much we can do that is within our control. In fact, every day that goes by, it is becoming more and more clear to us that we will not be able to get this done by the end of this month. There are a large number of different components that were supposed to be here a week ago that have still not arrived.
Keep in mind that once we get all these parts in, we will need to arrange them so we can pump these kits out and that is going to take some time to do, since we don't want to be shipping 2 kits per week...we want to really get them out to everyone faster than that. |
Completely understandable Mike something's just can not be controlled.

I think this is GTM's plan to delay knowing I will buy more upgrades since the kit is not in my hand.
:icon17: |
Lol I was going to start tearing apart the headers and intakes but I think I'll wait till I get word of a shipment date

Thanks for the update Mike! I understand how those things can go, suppliers tell you one thing, and sometimes you get another, ha.

Any new updates? How about some more pictures to a keep us at bay.

I know there are a lot of people that are eager and anxious to get their hands on this upcoming and amazing product. Believe me when I say that there is no one more eager than us to deliver. This kit and its price point, quality and value did not really happen by coincidence or luck. A lot of planning and big investments had to be made to offer it. Unfortunately, we are still waiting on some of the components to be ready so we can start the packaging process. Here is a video of one of the machines that was added to our line up of CNC equipment to even make producing 100 turbo kits possible. The machine has been in our possession for the last 8 months and it took 6 months just to get the tooling ready for it. Finally, we are sending our engineer and machine operators for training so this baby can get busy. This machine is easily capable of producing 100 pipes per day with multiple compound bends that don't require any cutting or welding. This is one of the reasons we can offer this kit at such a great price. Not only can this machine do intercooler pipes, but it will also enable us to produce our exhaust systems at a much better price point as well as on the shelf at all times.
So rest assured we are working tirelessly on bringing this product to market as quickly as humanly possible. Enjoy the video. |
I literally just posted that vid on FB!!!

Spohn I see you did the same

I want this kit, but what are the minimum other things do you need to have to put this on your car?
new clutch, oil cooler? anything else? |
Oil cooler mainly I think your stock clutch will hold for a little bit if you stay around 500 hp. I think I'm sure there are some more knowledgeable guy's when out comes to what our cars can take

The kit is never coming out so.......
|
Oil cooler, boost controller, and gauges are a must. Have GTM ceramic coat the hot parts and put the thermal dispersant coating on the intercooler core. Radiator is a damn good idea. A fan upgrade couldn't hurt. These cars run hot even before the turbos. Maybe GTMs fuel pump wiring upgrade. Go ahead and upgrade the pump from the Walbro to the bigger Aeromotive fuel pump so you don't have to do it later. You will be buying a clutch, but the "when" depends on your driving style and luck. Do the flywheel and CSC while you're in there. An appropriate exhaust if you don't have it already. These projects really add up quick.

|
What's the best way to contact gtm to make a payment? I've emailed mike but gotten no response. Have they said a deadline to pay for the discounted group buy price?
|
Never mind found my answer in another thread.

|

You know you guys don't need to be added to the list now. Just call GTM and place your order along with payment.

I saw a bunch of MHI stuff at their shop yesterday, I got excited and I don't have one lol. I had my own car to drive, my mind is blown currently.
