So at this point is there any compensation or discount planned to appease all of us that paid well over five grand with an expected ship date that passed six months ago?

In addition to the free upgrade to the Garrett turbos if desired? Check the other thread. They are most definitely offering something.

Did I miss something that they have posted somewhere else? Also sent that to you in a PM but figured I'd post it here in case someone else had the answer.

This is all I have seen on their release page which certainly doesn't say free, though it wouldn't be the first time I've overlooked something in these now crazy long GTM threads.

UPDATE: First off, I apologize for the delay in getting the schedule up on the boards. Sam had to have an emergency brain surgery last Thursday. As some of you know, he had broken his leg a little while back. Unfortunately, a blood clot formed in his leg and traveled up to his brain which caused some serious neurological issues. Last week, his condition worsened and he ended up having to take a ride in the ambulance to the ICU. The surgery was a success and thankfully, Sam is alive and on the road to recovery. While he is healing, he is not able to be here 24/7 like he used to, so please bear with us as Sam gets better and back up to 100%.

Now, for some good news: as a reward for bearing with us for as long as many of you have, we are offering the Garrett ball bearing turbos as a no-cost upgrade to those that want some ball bearing goodness. :) Normally, this would be quite a bit more expensive, but we are offering it to those that want to take advantage of it. For comparison purposes, the 16g is comparable to the GT2860RS turbos with a 0.64 A/R turbine housing. The 18g is similar in response to the GT2860RS with the 0.86 A/R turbine housing in terms of response, but the 18g has an advantage in power. That said, the stock engine is realistically only capable of sustaining up to ~630chp for a daily driven application. So, even though the 2860RS turbos with the 0.86 A/R turbine housings are “only” capable of 700chp and the 18g turbos are capable of 800chp, it’s a moot point on a stock engine. Now, if you are going to be running a built engine and want a turbo comparable to the 18g, then Garrett’s GT2871R with the 0.64 A/R turbine housing is the answer. That said, it is a significantly more expensive turbo and we simply cannot offer it as a free upgrade at this price point, but as a $400 upgrade.

We will be posting a schedule as soon as Sam and I have an opportunity to catch up on the expected delivery times from our suppliers.

Does GTM still respond to this thread or their PM? I haven't received a response yet from my email, a PM and now here...

GrooveStyle 01-03-2014 06:35 AM

I would just give them a call. That would probably be your best bet. They update and check the boards every once in a while but if you want quick answers I'd pick up the phone.

No only time they respond to the thread is when myself, Spohn, or the administrators ask them to. Other than that your best bet would be to call. Email if you want but it might get lost in all the clutter.

In their defense, I'd assume most of their customers would prefer that they are out in the shop trying to un **** this group buy than sitting in front of the computer. :roflpuke2:

In all seriousness, I've gotten Sam or Mike on the phone in two rings every time I've called.

Dzel 01-03-2014 12:24 PM

Yup this whole time that I was dealing with them Mike would always answer my questions when I called. There was only one time that I felt that they were giving me the run around.

Srry for the dump question, is their direct Tel. +01 909 481-4300 ? I'd be calling from the U.K.
Mike/Sam would also not get back to me via forum, PM, email or any attempt to get in contact.

Cheers:ugh2:
