My set of front and rear RA rotors should ship on Monday. So by sometime in the next couple of weeks I should know about fitment. I'll be installing the BC ER coilovers I got from Scott at the same time and upgrading my brake lines to Goodridge SS.

^^ Yeah, unfortunately the customers (so far) who have the sets of our two piece akebono rotors are not on this forum to comment :icon14:.

We have installed these RA two piece rotors on two cars here locally, not including one of my personally cars (for testing), so that makes three.
We also have shipped out two more rotor kits out to Europe. One customer from Germany/ Austria area who has had these on probably the longest and with the most track events raves about them and has nothing but great input for us every time we get an e-mail update from him.

There is also a show car G35 that will be installing his set fairly soon as well as two (soon to be three) additional members of this forum that should be receiving their rotor kits fairly soon that I am assuming will commet about them.

Let me know if you have any questions.....

LateralG'z 07-31-2010 10:40 AM

I am gonna watch this heavily since my stock rotars are getting chewed up by my pads. I am just tight on the funds this month with my SC and Suspension being done.

NewYorkJon34 08-23-2010 11:36 PM

What's the price on these now?

We now sell a full set of these (front and rear) two piece floating rotors, complete, anodized, with all necessary hardware, etc for $1,950

KillBill 10-16-2010 09:07 PM

Does anybody have any driving input on the two piece rear rotors yet??

If you mean track time, no. My next track days are Nov. 12-13.

KillBill 10-17-2010 05:32 PM

OK...hope to hear how it goes

Q8y_drifter 10-18-2010 05:26 AM

has anyone weighted the RA rear rotors? I don't think I've seen that mentioned.

gpa7pk 10-19-2010 07:27 PM

My weight measurements were not totally accurate. I must learn to pee before and not during these critical measurements. The front rotors do save in excess of 10 lbs but the rear rotors save approximately 3 to 4 lbs each. If any of you are looking for more accurate numbers - buy them and measure them yourselves. BTW, they are great!!!!! Don't forget what Scott says...they do make noise, but I don't think you will notice at the track.

Endgame 11-28-2010 12:12 AM

is the noise due to them being full floating rotors, or do the fixed 2 piece make the same noise?

Scott @ RA 11-29-2010 01:58 AM

Yes, the only noise is from the optional full floating design. They make a little rattling noise as do all true full floating racing and performance rotors. The rattling noise really only occurs when you are off the brake and street cruising like at 45 mph or less....
The two piece fixed, solid, non-floating option of these rotors do not make that noise.

Scott @ RA 01-12-2011 06:07 PM

Getting lots of inquiry's and interest in these lately. Even though the group buy offer has long since been over.... these are still selling (slow and steady).

infamousstuna 01-19-2011 12:48 AM

Hey Scott, i can't wait to get these installed!
Btw, email me the tracking number when you get a chance please.

pty370z 01-20-2011 10:02 PM

Hi Scott,

I've carefully read through the entire thread and I must say I'm sold on these. However, I will purchase when I target my budget at upgrading my brakes. I'm the kind of guy that likes to do all the stuff at the same time. So, when the time comes, I'll do SS lines, pads, rotors, fluid, etc...

My car is a daily driver and I'm extremely picky with noises, no matter how little they are.. My only questions is, do the two piece fixed, solid, non-floating rotors weigh the same as the floating ones or are they heavier..??

My main interest on these are the weight savings... Thanks for your help..

You got it, sorry for the delay. The hardware we were waiting for should be here today (hopefully)

Thanks, and sounds good, that is the best plan, IMO

Yes sir, our quieter, solid/fixed mounted version of our light weight two piece rotors are every bit as light as the full floating option ones.

I forgot to ask one more thing... Do they cost the same as the full floating option or are the solid/fixed cheaper..??

Thank you Scott!

NewYorkJon34 01-21-2011 02:11 PM

^ya how much do the solid 2-piece rotors cost? Should be cheaper than the full floating rotors right?

Same price.

EDIT- The rotors and machine time is the same, but the T-Lock hardware on the full floating rotors cost me about $2.25 each x 12 each rotor, so I can actually offer the fixed/ solid mounted rotors for about $20 less each rotor or $80 less per set if it helps.

Alright. Thanks Scott.

psedog 01-25-2011 06:27 AM

Dang Scott. Didn't know you created these two pieces. People have been claiming they would make these for years, but yeah we see how many of them delivered, lol. (I haven't been on any car forums lately :o )

That's awesome that you are willing to offer a discount for the non floating even though it really isn't that much different it terms of cost to you. Not many people would be doing that.

I was going to hit you up on facebook, but decided to register here.
How much would a front kit cost? (your 2-piece rotors, oem calipers, your G35 adapter)
I'm already eyeing pads.

I did find out about this through a post by Lawrence@autostrafe on the Driver forum. It was for the bracket and it piqued my interest. Hence I searched you out and found these awesome 2-piecers.

Thanks for the update Scott!
Looking forward to it.

infamousstuna 03-07-2011 01:53 PM

^^The shirt is nice! Thanks!

LukasC 06-10-2012 01:32 AM

these look really nice but there is some other 2 piece rotors on the market now for only 630 a pair. Have your prices gone down on these or is it still 1,700 for all four?

cavemancan 07-12-2012 01:53 PM

Whats the difference between the RA rotors and Racing Brakes offering? Besides price and weight.

Just curious.

Imperial 09-03-2012 08:37 AM

These work with the factory e-brake? No cutting or grinding for install?

scruffydog 01-30-2013 11:32 AM

I just found this thread b/c I saw somebody had these rotor on the 370z forum and did a google search to find myself here.

I just want to say I appreciate the amt of engineering and work that went to these rotors. I too would love to buy something like this but at the moment my fiancese aren't working out well. I've always been interested in BBK or brake improvements and I think you found the solution that will allow me to not throw away those Akebono's which came with my sports package.

Considering the huge weight reduction in rotary mass, I believe this will be a great improvement for anybody who tracks. Anyway, I hope you'll find me on this list someday.

Keep up the good work Scott and don't get too worked up, I'm sure good things will come around...it's like everybody wants a Ferrarri but hardly anybody would actually fork out and spend the money to get one.

Are these still available? If so are they available for just the front or only 4 corners? Thanks.

Scott @ RA 04-30-2014 03:51 AM

Sorry for not being on here for a while guys, we are still around, I have just been really too busy to be on forums for a while...

Just curious.

Our rotors are made with a very different and specific, custom blend of cast iron, nickle, inconel, etc in specific amounts. There is no better (metal) rotor material and process available. ... for starters. But I can go on and on about the process and differences (we dont have all day)

Yes, front or rear set can be purchased seperately.

andy_meng1024 04-30-2014 04:26 AM

Scott, can you PM me your price for the front? I can't PM you somehow. Thanks.

Because he's not a forum sponsor...

Does no one see that this is a 4 YEAR OLD group buy that never got fulfilled?

The actual "group buy" didn't work out on here in the time frame we were shooting for back then.... But there has been about 8-10 complete sets of rotors sold to our happy customers :) as well as a few orders of just the front pair or just the rear pair, etc.

V8Killer 10-09-2014 09:40 AM

Has the price dropped any on these? I just wanted to know as Z1 offers a set of 2 piece rotors with pads, SS brake lines and fluid for a few hundred dollars cheaper.
