The same thing happened with mine (left is higher than right).
Not 100% sure if this is Berk or how the factory one comes from Nissan (meaning the hangers are adjusted differently creating a tilt), but we slapped on some washers and it evened out nicely.

I am surprised at how low that tip is. I know for a fact that the jig for the muffler section was made with the OEM muffler so it should fit the same as stock. Maybe there is more play in the connection points or something. Mine doesn't look like that and I even have a broken hanger on the passenger side.

We tried playing with the hangers and muffler and could move it very very little, but in the end it was easier to just add washers.

I don't know that it's the tips. It appears that the muffler itself is not aligned correctly, which would cause the left tip to sit higher and the right tip to sit lower.

From the pictures, it looks like you could bend the bar that fits into the rear hanger to vertically align the tips. The horizontal spacing looks good.

I'm going to remove the back part and try to reinstall and see if it aligns better. Out of the install that was the hardest to do alone. I had to rest the muffler on my chest to get it bolted on. Maybe it's something i did I hope and not my hanger being too long.

Teh whole unit looks twisted  ...seems to me the right muffler intake pipe is higher than the left pipe, if it can be rotated downward, the exhaust tip should rotate upwards and line up, no?

Damn now imma nervous....:eekdance:

Vids! Sound! I want SOUND :excited:

Damn, I hope mine doesn't do that as bad, I know washers will clean that up but still, it shouldn't be that off.

azn370z 03-09-2010 01:19 PM

You can see the bottom of the muffler is crooked. You can't judge by the intake piping because the right piping starts farther back than the left. So there is a little optical illusion.

Any word on when the last 5 exhausts will ship out?

The Weapon 03-09-2010 01:20 PM

well i fixed it a bit. I took 4 hours of PTO so i can try to mess with it.
It looks much better and not nearly as noticable. I used 2 1/2 nuts on the inside bolts and left it without a nut on the outside bolt on the hanger. Everything is lining up right as far as the other pipes go and nothing rubs or touches but i think the issue is the Tip. The tip looks like it got welded slight facing down.

That ******* blows man ! I really hope I don't have this issue when mine gets installed because that would mean BERK spent extra time fixing the tip alignment and it ended up worse than before rofl.

:iagree:

M.Bonanni 03-09-2010 01:55 PM

For those who are seeing crooked tips. Are you leaving all of the bolts finger tight until the whole system is on the car, then tighten them starting at the x-pipe and working back?

Blown away at how this is happening after repeatedly test fitting in-house on a few cars and using the OEM muffler as a jig.

The Weapon 03-09-2010 01:58 PM

I did leave everything finger tight. Infact i had everythign disconnected and just tried to line up the muffler by itself. It doesn't want to line up even when it's just connected to the hanger. I really think it's the Tip that got welded from the muffler.

You can kind of see it slopes down or the hanger is too long. I was thinking of trying to bend it but i was afraid i might break it. And i'd rather it be crooked than dragging.

M.Bonanni 03-09-2010 02:14 PM

The only other thing I can think of is that one of your hangers got bent during shipping. I called Berk and they still have their bone stock test fitment car down there so they're going to do some more test fitting on ones straight out of the jig right now.
