New Supercharger acting up

Hey everyone! First of all I just wanted to thank everyone on the forum for being so supportive. I'm moving in a couple weeks, my washer broke, and my install had a handful of problems. During the turmoil the forum has helped me maintain some of sanity.

CAR: 11,000 miles
aem wideband a/f and glowshift boost gauge
Borla cat back
Dragonball shift knob ;)
Stillen SC

Problem: stillen sent me the wrong map so they threw something together for me in a day. I got the car today and my mechanic told me that it'll take about 300 miles for my z to remember how to car again. The car seems to be struggling, won't really go, and backfires if I try to push it. The car tends to run lean and I can barely get the boost gauge over 0. Mechanic told me to call him end of the day just to check up and that the flashing airbag light will eventually go off. I don't know if I should believe him. Please advise as this is my first time dealing with FI. Thank you guys so much for the support

You need to find a new tuner ASAP!

TOW the car, Sounds exactly what mine did when the feed line fell off I have thread and vids here and on myg37

You live in LA, we have several good tuners, yours is complete and utter shít.

Tow it. Give us the name of your tuner so we don't go there.

Lastly, who did your install?

Business Kat 12-17-2014 05:57 PM

The place is fuzion teknique ad the guys name is Alex. He's good at everything else we've done, mostly cosmetics, but this install was funky. Something happened and Stillen sent over a map for the sport model with synchro rev. They told me that they don't have a comparable map for my car so overnight Stillen worked with uprev to make a map for my car. By no means is my mechanic a tuner but I figured it's just a plug and play map system (I don't really know how it works).

I can't tell if Stillen messed up or my guy didn't do something right. I don't know who to trust. Church automotive is only 30min from me so I can drive it down there coasting. Should my car have been ready for beast mode right off the bat? The 10 min I drove it around today I did notice it opening up a little. I have such rotten luck with cars. My last car was a lemon and when I first bought my z I went to put in some speakers and the guy cut a lot my wiring and made my car a fire hazard. So much wasted time, money, and my poor car :(

Stop. Driving. That. Car. Until. A. Good. Tuner. Looks. At. It.

Thanks. I'm going to get it on a dyno tomorrow. Just out of curiosity...

The map I got from stillen... Is there any actual tuning involved or do you just plug it into a laptop, download, and in theory it should work?

It should work immediately. There's something very wrong. Putting it on the dyno may well cost you a motor. The smart move is to not move the car one single inch under its own power until the issue is investigated and resolved. Period.

By dyno I meant take it to a tuner and doing the whole 9. If I even came close to full throttle on a dyno or on the street I'm sure my engine would drop out of my car

Any throttle. Tow it to a new tuner. You already said it was running lean. Be afraid.

Tow it to Specialty Z

could be something like coil wires put on the wrong cylinders (I did that on my 350) and I burned up a cat in no time, or it could be any number of small things done wrong. I wouldn't drive it anymore, and definitely wouldn't put it on a dyno.

yup take it to seb he will fix your woes or tell you what is broken.
