My turbo people!!!! About 370z BRAKE BOOSTING??!!!
I was able to bypass one of the wires coming off the ecu to allow the car to brake boost in my 04Z. What about the 370Z? Thoughts????

the 03-04 350Z's had terrible brakes with their lol brembo's. the 370Z's sport brakes are fine. |
This is about brake boosting. Nothing to do this the actual brakes lol
|
Pull the brake light fuse and you can throttle up with the brakes on.
|
But no brake lights?^

To the OP what was bypassed on the 350 that didnt allow you to brake boost? Did traction control kick in or something? |
The drive by wire system in our cars will limit the throttle to 30% if the brake in applied. Why it won't build boost while the brake is pushed down.

My old Z. Built Twin turbo

I would assume you can most likely find the pin from the brake switch that goes to the ecu to give it the signal to limit throttle and either put it on a switch or bypass it.

Edit: I think it required some wiring mods, as mentioned above. Pulling the fuse is not permanent. Which method is better depends on your goals. |
I didn't get the attached thumbnails that had the pictures of the PIN out, but you can find those anywhere. I asked about this for warming up slicks and also brake boosting when I go F/I, later. Also will allow you to now power brake. This was copy and pasted onto my computer.
So in summary; You have 3 large connectors at the ECU. Find the one that matches the attached image and pin 122 is the purple wire for brake signal input. If you disconnect this wire, you can brake boost without losing your brake lights. But if you leave it disconnected too long you will get DTC Code P1805. This is why you would rather put a switch inline here rather than just cut the wire... so you can open the circuit when you want to brake boost without interference by the ECM, and then reconnect the signal later so you do not get the code. An alternative could be to disable P1805 in the ECM if you have UpRev. Which I think I might go ahead and do now next time I am in my ECU... then I can just de-pin terminal 122 without cutting the wire... to this day my cars wiring is all un-cut minus my injector sub-harness... prefer to keep it that way personally. |
I had the inline switch in my 04 TT Z. No issues what so ever. I'll do this one as well. I do lots of highway roll racing. Brake boosting is vital.
