Stillen SC + FrozenBoost HE + Oil Cooler?

Hey everyone,

We had the car out on track last week for its first shake down. It performed well but suffered from heat soak on the charge cooler heat exchanger side.

I was wondering, I have seen that a few people have gone for the FrozenBoost rad, but did that mean their oil coolers (if they are running one) sat infront of the rad?

Did this affect the FrozenBoost cooler or did it still work well?

Cheers

I believe the order from outside (first in line) to back:
Intercooler
Oil cooler
Radiator

I don't think that's what he asked, lol. But I agree.

OP, the Stillen kit isn't great on a track. You want to enlarge that hear exchanger, much larger oil cooler, ideally a larger radiator, and the best thing you can do after that (but helps solve all your problems) is to get a different front bumper to allow for better airflow.

I tell you that without an oil cooler and just the Stillen front bumper, my oil temps are 10-20 degrees cooler when I do my 50-120 uphill pulls

He was wondering if the oil cooler would end up in front of the frozenboost intercooler, which I believe it stays behind.
I agree the bigger intercooler and better radiator would be huge upgrades for the car on the track.

My bad!
I thought frozen boost was an additive, lol

I reread the thread... Obviously my reading komprihenshun isn't that great...

It works fine so far

hey nope at least not on the G's, My oil cooler was not in front of my HUGE front mount heat exchanger. I can tell you for the $$ Its worth it no questions asked. I ran my car 8 times at the track 1/4. after the second time the car was dog,. Heat soaked like it was on fire. After the change the car never waivered from it. Best upgrade to that kit. Should come with one IMO( Yes I have been saying that a lot) Because to bolt the heat exchanger to the radiator MAKES NO SENSE lol..

Ok cool. I'll order the FrozenBoost cooler then.

Did you guys go for the 3.5" thick core or the 2"?

I currently have Stillen's 25 row gold cooler but im actually tempted to up that to a setrab or mocal 40 row.

ANMVQ 07-11-2014 03:44 PM

I got the larger one :) 3.5!!

Air to Water Heat Exchanger

This is how it looks i have a 34 row oil cooler behind the frozen boost intercooler running with mocool additive and AN fittings. I had the old intercooler behind my oil cooler and i noticed an increase in oil temps after putting the frozen boost intercooler on but only by 10-15 degrees. And thats in 100degree texas heat today. I tracked my car with the sc in april and it was beast never had heat problems with my setup.

Chuy 09-20-2014 11:07 AM

Damn it sounds like its the new "cool" thing to do! Ha see what i did there (corney I know)

niko86 10-20-2014 03:08 PM

What type of AN fittings do you guys use?

diego@vossen 10-20-2014 03:40 PM

Frozenboost upgrade is a must. 1 longer hose, 2 new fittings, cut tow hook off and relocated oil cooler. All worth it :)

ANMVQ 10-20-2014 03:51 PM

Yea man!!

niko86 10-25-2014 03:13 PM

Did you guys use AN fittings with the Frozenboost Cooler?
If so, what size would fit the Stillen IC.
I am thinking about replacing all of the rubber hose with AQP braided AN hoses.

TKomodo 02-06-2015 08:41 AM

Will this fit behind a factory 370 bumper?

JWillis72 02-06-2015 08:49 AM

The thick one might not but I would think you could get the thin one to fit depending out what all you have in front of the radiator.

EliteXpress 02-06-2015 12:25 PM

The thick one will fit, just have to trim your bumper out a little.

future370zzz 02-06-2015 05:37 PM

Good stuff. This is my next mod.

octet 02-22-2015 12:31 PM

Guys, what fittings and hoses are required for the Stillen SC and FrozenBoost, anyone has a detailed list please?

Thanks!

Thanks!

you can use the same hoses that came with the stillen kit, I took my core to a fittings shop to get the right pieces, pretty sure they were just 5/8th fitting's.

swiss370Z 02-22-2015 10:26 PM

https://www.frozenboost.com/water-to...er-p-1026.html

•Water inlet and outlet are 1/2" NPT female threads, just like most air to water intercoolers.

Hope that helps

AN-10 is what is on mine

BOLIO 671 11-01-2015 07:32 AM

Do the hoses and AN Fittings come with this or you have to purchase them separate? If separate do any of you guys have an idea of where to get them?
