So what is being done for 40.0000.00 dollars.
my 4.2 stroker is costing me 25000.00 with the stage 3 upgrades and that not installed in my car.
Just talked to Sam. it may be done is 2 weeks .

Ill 06-30-2014 11:51 AM

$40,000 is the total of everything that has been put into the car and the car itself.

$22,000 for the car when I purchased it
~$10,000 for the TT kit
~$1,000 in gauges and EBC
~$2,500 in wheels and tires
~$1,500 brakes and suspension work
~$1,600 clutch / flywheel / HD csc
~$5,000 for the installation of the TT and all the supporting mods that I sent him.

Since everything has already been paid for and my car is still at their shop, he is holding $40,000 of the money that I have spent, if that makes any sense. That is how I think of it, until I get my car back, he is holding the money. I should have clarified.

No matter how you want to swing it, buying a Z and then buying a TT kit is a terrible investment and a bad financial decision.

You will never get what you put into it. And don't use "fun" as a factor... that's how we all justify buying a 2 door sports car that gets 20 mpgs. So, technically speaking.. unless you plan to race professionally in that car for $$, its a bad investment.

But have fun at least!

Unless a person is a collector in cars that actually appreciate in value, cars aren't an investment at all.

Ill 06-30-2014 09:59 PM

You're correct. I never should have used the term investment, because I know it is not one.

Finally we agree on something MMC! :bowrofl:

RyanWest 06-30-2014 10:07 PM

And GTM hasnt even chimed in on this! This is exactly why I'm just going to do a 75 shot on the Z.

I truly don't even care about speed anymore. Been there done that with my STI

I will mention it to Sam tomorrow when I call him for an update on my build.

Who are you and who is doing your tuning? I am part of the biggest Z and G club in the area and the only one with a GTM kit on 370z is my friend steven. It is hard to believe that you are local and haven't crossed paths with the group or been to any shows or anything? Would have heard about your build.
