He probably realizes his credibility is not so credible anymore, we might hear from him once all the refund stuff is taken care of and things have turned around but until then i don't see it happening.

Imo he should be banned. People are discussing legal actions against him etc in this thread (maybe not the smartest thing to do but w/e). Why should he have the privilege of spying on the people he f'ed over?

Can't ban someone from the internet...

dmhenderson 09-24-2014 04:43 PM

You can ban them from a forum just fine.

They were already banned, but you can't ban a non-forum member from just viewing the thread

dmhenderson 09-24-2014 05:22 PM

IP ban. You absolutely can.

I'm going to kill the banter by saying that it's going to be damn near impossible to IP ban every shop computer, home computer, cell phone, etc. and other places/devices he has access too

TorProject, VPNs, neighbors wifi. The internet is a intricate and very OPEN place. You can't ban him from viewing this site in its entirety. If you don't want people viewing your business don't put it on the internet.

Banning IP ranges is insanely easy. This is a vbulletin board right? It's very easy to profile a single user's logins and as for TOR and VPN access, I think you are giving Sam far too much credit. I'm sure you folks know a lot more about it his sort of thing than me though. Keep thinking no action at all outweighs basic idiot-proofing precautions.

I'll head back home and let you resume the circlejerk though.

Have a good one :)

No one thinks no action supercedes action, I think we're just realist. Sure Sam should be banned, I agree. But their is no way to keep him from lurking on the forums. And as far as giving Sam too much credit, I think you're underestimating Sam. Thieves are alot smarter then most people tend to credit them for. As far as your circle jerk comment, I'll leave that as a momentary absence of maturity.

Cheers

I would love to actually! I had a hard time trying to figure out how to make it a plug-n-play setup, but with more experience, I realized if I buy an ABS bracket and do a core exchange type of deal, or just buy them outright, I could feasibly make it plug-n-play.

Either way, I'm in my final year of school, so my Z has been in the garage lately. Got about 2k miles on it in the past 3-4 months, lol. Took it out for autoX a few times, that was great.

Regarding the GTM issue, I spoke with a lawyer about the bankruptcy. I don't think I'll have an issue. :tiphat:

Thought I'd post something quick here.

- Paid in full on the first day GTM was officially taking payment for the MHI TT (May 29, 2013) within the hour of them opening that day.

- Waited patiently for updates, didn't call them at all til about 6 months in as I was just reading the forum for updates.

- Once a year of waiting hit I decided it was way too long and I was in contact with my bank asking what could be done to dispute the purchase/charge. They were very helpful and patient with it all as well. Together we both gave GTM another 3 months to come up with something, but after calling Sam on 2 occasions during those 3 months and having him almost seemingly insist that I get my money back I decided to pull the plug.

- As of Sept 18 I got my full refund through my bank. I'm not sure who took the hit on the charge back but I am just happy to receive my money back, and cudos to the rep at the bank for helping me out a ton. FI (or Stillen) here i come!! :icon17:

- Best of luck to anybody else who is in the process of getting their money back from GTM. I was extremely lucky to have had things work out in this manner. I honestly wish I could of gotten my hands on this kit, especially after patiently waiting for so long but I guess it was never ment to be.

I hope i dont loose my mhi gb standings with sam. Or i guess the $ is mine.

Not sure why you still have hope on sam. I would of gotten the money back and bought an AAM/FI/BP kit already. You would also get your kit from AAM/FI/BP at record time compared to GTM.
