Bumping an old thread. I wanted to know who has info on putting some nitrous on our vehicles and some success and not so successful stories. Any and all information will be appreciated.

Econ 07-18-2011 10:58 AM

Nitrous is pretty much a love hate sort of thing, so you'll get some pretty diverse opinions.

Ya that is what I am shooting for. It has been a while since this topic was addressed so I wanted to know results good and bad while running on the bottle.

Econ 07-18-2011 12:32 PM

why do you want it?

drag purposes or street use?

True, but it will make an existing fire grow insanely large in a heartbeat. you can start a roaring campfire in about 2.3 seconds with a match and some nitrous.

By it's self it is considered non flammable because it is so hard to burn at normal temps/pressure. How ever punctures are always dangerous, a warm NOS tank can get above 1000psi and depending on mounting can be a very dangerous rocket so just be mindful of that when mounting.

I am thinking about getting a set up for my car and for purposes it would be both.

ANMVQ 07-18-2011 04:09 PM

Just watched the youtube vid, Not sure I would risk it for only 317 WHP. Heck 17 more than me???

V8Killer 07-20-2011 04:37 AM

What youtube vid? Also I would probably go a 75 shot. Not to mention it should me more then that. Right now my baseline is 285 and I expect 330 once all my mods are put on and tune is finished.

On the first page, Psot 15 for me? Your at 285 WHP now what mods? I'm full bolted tuned G37 X coupe and made 298..

V8Killer 07-20-2011 07:55 AM

No mods bud, stock on a dynojet internet is slow in Afghan, how big of a shot did you use?

V8Killer 07-20-2011 09:58 PM

Well the video for 1. is a G35. I don't really know why that was a such a bad gain for his set up.

ANMVQ 07-21-2011 07:45 AM

Eh not really a fan of running it.. I used it on my drag car with a progressive stage kit, 150-250-350 but for a DD not really. For the cost of a wet syetem installed and tuned, Save the $$$ for a supercharger kit.

As for it being on a G35 really depends on the dyno. I have seen G35's put down 265 WHP with just exhaust( I know this was high). But all depends on the dyno. If you do not want to go FI, Just do bolt -ons and tune. Trust me the car is completly different with a tune. 300+WHP with big gains in the mid RPMS will keep you happy.

Ya here is the list of mods I am doing. F.I. LTH, TDX CBE, JWT clutch/flywheel combo, Stillen UD pulley, G3 intake and NST alternator overdrive pulley. Tires will be the RE-11s. Tune will be custom dyno using the Uprev. I expect to get minimum 330 but we will see. Ya after thinking it over today I may not go with it just a hard bullet to bite b/c my buddy has a 2000 camaro SS with cam and exhaust that I will be racing when I go home. So I got an uphill battle from the get go.

don't buy any of the stuff you listed as you will have to sell it eventually and get a supercharger from gtm good for 400+ to the wheels for the same money. maybe the tires, but the car willrun perfectly fine with just a gtm stage 1 and you will be able to beat him.

I really would not say a up hill battle. Stock for stock cars are alomst even.. With his mods and you having more plus the tune. It will be a drivers go. IMO.. I have ran a few cars with mine and they where all suprised.. :)- 1 Was a older Vett 2002-2003 with SLP exhaust. There was also a Triumph V8( 300 hp) Car..

96bigbody 07-22-2011 11:33 AM

If setup right that camaro should be in the low 12's if not 11's. Mine was in the 12's with just an intake and cut-out

V8Killer 07-23-2011 05:09 AM

Ya older cars are easier to mod and v8's seem to get more gains out of simple mods. Not much I can do is hope for the best and a good launch.

V8Killer 07-23-2011 12:31 PM

Bump I need more responses.

I am looking to see if anyone has used nitrous on there 370z. I want to know what kit they used and how it responded with the car. I found one Z member who might have used a Zex kit on his car but he is in Guam and he hasn't been online a while.

96bigbody 07-24-2011 06:08 PM

Do it..best bang for buck.

V8Killer 07-25-2011 12:03 AM

Ya but they are out of stock. I've recently sent them an email but no reply yet.

98intrigue 07-26-2011 10:34 AM

A local member had nitrous on his 370Z. He posts under Tyler something... He had his kit up for sale in the classifieds.
