I did not ask for 600+ out of the Stillen. I just attempted to squeeze all of the available power out of it. All of that stuff came from a Facebook picture. I don't even have Facebook so I knew nothing about it until I saw it on here.
928 would not sell me an impeller for a V3 SCi. We already knew what was going to need to be replaced and modified. It was in my post earlier today. We had plans for everything that needed to be modified. Including switching to E85. Then, I rode in a 370Z with a JTran Motorsports Single Turbo.... ......sold my Stillen the next day. |
Yeah it isnt for the sci, u have to order the v2 si cover with it

This is the first time I heard that. Good info.

Can't wait to see what type of power you make with a single on a built 35hr
|
Was it my Z that you rode in? Yea, I know slowZ knows his ****, as I've already credited him with that. Let me troll a bit......geez!

The Turbo has kept me awake for the last few nights. Pure insanity. I want to turbo everything I own. Even the lawnmower. |
OP
I'm curious what made you try to go all out on the SC? Multiple people have tried to get the most out of Stillen and always end up disappointed. Was it not wanting to spend the extra money on another kit? I guess trying to get the most out of something you got is only thing I can think of. There should be plenty of info for the next guy trying to go this route to see it don't work. Not knocking u at all just wondering why people keep trying to max out this kit. Now maxxing out a turbo kit... that I'd like to see more of! |
I never intended to take it this far. It was a weekend street toy. Auto Trans. Drive it in the rain car.
I know the trouble people have trying to get the 5AT to hold power. And a big part of its problem was not being able to handle part-throttle torque. The computer is not expecting to see much torque at part throttle, and therefore does not increase the line pressure. Then you get slipping and heat and broken transmissions. So I specifically chose a kit that would not make much torque at low rpms and part-throttle. The only time a centrifugal supercharger makes power is in the upper rpms and wot. I figured that would be my best shot at running stock-block and stock 5AT with FI. Yes, I overthink everything in my life. Long story short. I lucked into a good deal on a built Transmission. Uprev figured out how to fool the computer into expecting more torque and therefore upping line pressure. Then I blew my motor and way overbuilt it. And most importantly met some cool *** people and got the power-bug. I wasn't ever expecting the Stillen Kit to make a certain number. I was just trying get all I could out of it. I was happy with it and would still have it if the JTran bunch hadn't made me an awesome deal. |
That's what JTran does. You stop by, be cool, and you are part of the family.

:icon18: lol you got that itch turbo all things. |
If I had never got in that car, none of this would be happening. Ha ha.
A message for all Supercharged Z owners. Do not sit in a Turbocharged car...Don't even look at it. |
^I think I'm going down the same road as you. Stillen SC with upgraded goodies. My reasoning is that I have a CARB sticker on the kit. CA sucks for modified cars. Plus I got lazy and got a 7AT and the lower torque numbers keep me from re-building the tranny. Fingers crossed.
I guess my choice is based on how much money I can spend on boost. If I did it again, it would be a PW 6MT FI TT. Just gotta stay away from you guys with turbos. I know I would be hook on the instant torque and power of the turbos. |
