code b2201

Hi guys I changed the clutch and flywheel on my friends tt370z
And it was running fine then it just died, doesn't start anymore, I had 2 codes a crank sensor code and a b2201 code, I changed the cranksensor and it went away but still doesn't start , I searched around about this code i came up with B2201 - No Communication With Traffic MasterModule or LF window stuck

All your feedback is appreciated.

Hmm I have no clue.... Sub'd

I hope it all works out....

Do you mean "P"2201?

That's an O2 out of range code.

I can find info on a "B"2201 No Communication With Traffic MasterModule code, but all I can think of is that some connector is unplugged or a fuse is blown.

I can't find anything clear on what the "Traffic MasterModule" even is -- sounds like a nav related or maybe body control module issue, which shouldn't cause this. Seems to be a UK car thing too...

Double check that all connectors are firmly making contact and no fuses are blown?

The car is from the USA its a nismo, so nav is out of the question, all fuses and connectors checked. Still the same

The code is B2201

I can find the code in generic Nissan help guides but no reason or how to fix it.
Only thing is to run through all the plugs, check the radio system and A/C controls to make sure something is not unplugged or half plugged in.

What year is the Z?

Traffic Master module can be the ECU on a Citroen or a navigation-related module in most other vehicles. It appears that Nissan uses the term "TrafficMaster" for part of the navigation system. Very little info on the Intertubes, so this might be a job for a dealer shop.

My guess is that, whatever the TM module is, it's interfering with the anti-theft ignition lockout.

Good luck and please let us know what you find out.

Edit: I know you say you've checked all the connectors but I recommend that you double-check all the connectors going to/from the radio/nav/HVAC units.

FWIW I see that code from time to time on my car but it has never caused any issues. I do not have nav either so im not sure what it means.

I would almost point to the flywheel being the culprit. That inductor ring on the back is pretty flimsy in comparison to the weight of the flywheel and it could easily bend. The car is not going to start if there is a issue with the pickup from the crank sensor, just as a safety.

It is weird that it ran for a bit but maybe during its heat cycle something shifted? To do a clutch swap you don't touch any harness's other than the trans harness and unplug the O2s, both of which you could theoretically leave unplugged and the car would still start just fine.

Found this after a quick search on the internet, might be useful to see if a code is popping up on there.

I guess its time to open up and see the flywheel and clutch, and maybe choose a stock flywheel instead of a light weight flywheel and take it from there. Keep u guys posted, cant thank you enough guys ..

P.s the car is a nismo so it doesn't have navigation 😌

hindi1973 02-06-2014 05:07 AM

Opened the trans , The clutch and flywheel are messedup although they are brand new , A pin broke from the clutch and messed up everything inside cant blame the kit or the install because i can never know, Well now we know when this code pops up then something is wrong internally.

Thanks for your support.
