Wow if your not going to tune the car for the extra hp when using water/meth
Then I would just go with the snow performance kit it's cheaper and will do the same thing If your getting the aqua kit then I would tune it for hp |

My opinion is that anyone that thinks 400+ HP going into a hairpin isn't enough probably hasn't done it ! I don't need the biggest numbers, I just want enough to have fun and scare the crap out of myself!

Lol trust me it's over kill
If your just using it for its cooling effect and not bumping the timing for the hp advantage It's like getting a nos kit and instead of going for the simple jet dry shot your getting the full 2stage fogger wet kit but then only doing a 50shot Just my 2cents any way I will post a picture of my setup on my old Stillen kit http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...r/IMG_1837.jpg http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...r/IMG_8946.jpg It was a nice clean look. And worked well. |
I agree with you. I have 5 Uprev maps. 1-93oct, 2-91oct, 3-93oct w/meth, 4-valet, 5-security/no start. My 93+meth map allows me to run more timing and gives me 22hp over my 93 map. In the summer I still use methanol on top of my non-meth maps. Devils own and Boost Juice are good, but I am now mixing my own 50/50 mix VP M1 with distilled water. So much more cost effective!

It's not apples to apples, but I gained a ton of torque when I added meth on my last car. 40+ lb/ft. I didn't pick up any hp, but that turbo was pretty tiny. I could run an extra 4 pounds of boost on meth over straight 93.

It all depends on the tuner. If you just want to run it for cylinder cooling and IATs, you probably won't gain any torque. If you have the tuner add a bunch of timing since the octane will now support it, you'll pick up some power.

VP Racing fuels also sell meth in large 5 gallon drums for $40-50 IIRC. They have physical locations you can go purchase these drums. ^^

I'm planning on using around a 50/50 mixture just to be used for IATs. After doing some math from some Subaru forums and the Aquamist forum, I should go with a .7mm nozzle for the IC and a .9mm nozzle for the TP, does that sound about right? I'm not looking to run crazy boost or tune for it, just want some protection from summer heat.
I'll be running a GTM Basic fuel system with Denso 600cc Injectors and Walbro 255 Fuel Pump. I'm inly hoping for around ~500 whp with low boost. |

I was using boost juice and I still have 5 gallons left
Driving like I have cents and just boosting it every now and then last me a month or so Drag strip and boosting a lot maybe 2.5-3 weeks Also I had mine set to only spray over 6psi I was making 9-10 psi max With the Stillen kit |

I would think it would be better to trigger meth based on MAP pressure than RPM, unless that's just a window switch and it's still based on MAP in addition.
|
Just to follow up on this, I had the Aquamist HFS-3 installed last week and spent yesterday with my tuner. It's working great for AITs, it was 85 degrees yesterday and when the meth was running the max temp was around 100 degrees. My plan to not tune for it didn't work with this system because with all the meth it pumps it made the car way to rich. We ended up doing a second set of maps so I can run it with or without the meth so I'm happy with the kit.
