Fast Intentions 3' Exhaust Reviews?

I just ordered my FI 3' exhaust and was curious to see who else is running this setup with their gtm TT kit? This will be my final piece and my car will be completed and on to project gtr or a jeep build... I decided to go with the non resonated version since tony claimed the turbo's would kill most of the noise but to still be able to hear something. Any feedback would be great!!! After installing my gtm tt setup I was assured my 2.5 stillen would bolt up to the gtm 3' downpipes but it didn't so I had to have a reducer welded in which works but that exhaust is not meant for a FI application...

elperuano 08-09-2013 08:15 PM

I think ur the first going this route. How long is the wait time?

COSMO 08-09-2013 08:19 PM

I was told 9 weeks but from what I hear these exhaust are well worth it. Fingers crossed... Will do a full review after the install on everything so stay subscribed...

djtodd 08-09-2013 08:40 PM

There are a few people with them. I don't think Tony ever really "launched" the 3" kit like the 2.5. It's only really appropriate for boosted applications, which limits the number of people that would pursue it in the first place.

FWIW Cosmogirl, based on my experienced with the other FI stuff, you can't go wrong. The quality is absolutely phenomenal.

Edit: nm, he did put up a launch page.

I rode behind "Ron" and in his Nismo. He has the GTM twin turbo kit with bigger turbos and he had the Fast Intentions 3" exhaust. It was non-resonated also. It was not as loud as the normal Fast Intentions but it still sounded great! I think you will love it. PM him for any questions, I am sure he would love to help.

Here's an old video but you get the idea. I love the sound of the exhaust. Deeper than 2.5"'s, no rasp. If anything, it could be louder lol.

I've got the 3" non resonated exhaust with a GTM TT kit. I had Tony put cats in it to cut down on the fuel smell from the exhaust. It's fairly quiet until you romp on it. I had the cans ceramic coated black to cut down on the bling factor. It's a fantastic exhaust.

COSMO 08-10-2013 12:16 PM

Thanks for the feedback chuck Iam really looking forward to it!!!! I was going to go with the gtm 3' exhaust but they wanted alot more it and I've head nothing but great things about the Fast Intentions exhaust. At this point Iam starting to wonder if I should have waited and went with the Fi TT kit since their customer service seems a lot better..

Chuck33079 08-10-2013 12:22 PM

Its a fantastic exhaust. No drone, and mine is quiet at idle and part throttle. Louder and lower than stock, but still fairly unobtrusive. It gets louder at WOT, but not so loud that you cant hear all of the awesome turbo noises. You'll love it.

roplusbee 08-10-2013 01:36 PM

Good Choice. You will love it. I do..............but I don't have a GTM TT kit, so I am not authorized to comment.

elperuano 08-10-2013 03:38 PM

Exhaust sounds good. Very quiet. Similar to the gtm exhaust. only gets loud at wot.

elliotty 08-11-2013 10:42 AM

I have the FI 3" exhaust as well. Also have the 300 Cel cats to get rid of the fuel smell. I love how the exhaust sounds. It's very deep, limited drone, and comes alive under WOT. Happy to answer any questions as well.

I have been thinking about upgrading my 2.5" TDX to 3" when my car is finished. I wonder if the 3" DP for the MHI kit can be mated with the 2.5" exhaust I currently have.

COSMO 08-11-2013 11:51 AM

Iam pretty sure the 3' downpipe for that kit is the same as the one I bought for my gtm TT kit. The 3' gtm downpipe has a big flange, a lot bigger than a flange on most 2.5' exhaust. What I had to do with my still exhaust was have a local muffler shop weld in a reducer to a bigger flange to mate it together. Iam hoping FI starts making more of these exhaust so when others run across the same issue as me they will have a great option to go with. I originally was going to go with gtm with their 3' exhaust but the price was Alot more and I was really impressed with tony's customer service and the time taken when I called.:tup:

Hey thanks for the feedback. Would you happen to have any videos or pics of your exhaust??

I don't have any readily available but I can dig some up/take some new ones. I'm a big fan of the setup!

You will have zero fitment issues with the FI 3"

Here is my review thread.

I added a few more videos to my YouTube channel after I wrote this.

Damn I miss that car. :(

We never "officially" launched the 3" exhaust. We launched the interest thread with the video but no pricing on our website nor here on the forum. I had always planned to but between getting the TT Kit in to production and keeping up with our exhaust production I unintentionally put it on the back burner. With the TT Kit almost complete for production and shipment and the new website being worked on, we plan to have all of the information up shortly.

Thanks, Tony

To this day I am still loving those black ceramic mufflers!

Thanks, Tony

It's perfect. The cans just disappear under the car. Just what you want to preserve your sleeper status.

Dating back to our phone conversation months ago, I will help you anyway that I can to make everything fit up together. Currently our 3" TT-TDX CBE bolts up to the GTM 3" Down Pipes (Garrett Kit) and the Greddy 2.5" Down Pipes for their kit. The exhaust will obviously bolt up to our 3" Down Pipes as well once our kit is released.

As far as the compatibility with your MHI Kit, I will not know until I see you in house. We have options though. I can make a nice smooth transition with our 7 degree taper from your 3" MHI Down Pipes to your current 2.5" exhaust. If you decide the 3" exhaust is the route you want to go, I will make our exhaust compatible with their 3" Down Pipes. This way our 3" exhaust will be compatible with EVERY Twin Turbo Kit on the market for this car! If you are ready to discuss the options further, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

Thanks, Tony

As long as you have not modifed your 3" Down Pipe (in terms of ending location) our 3" exhaust should bolt up to it with no issues. It was originally created to bolt up to the GTM TT (Garrett Kit) & Greddy Twin Turbo Kit long before our TT Kit was even a prototype.

Thanks, Tony

COSMO 08-11-2013 04:39 PM

Nothing modified on the gtm 3' downpipes tony, like I said I had to have the muffler shop weld in a larger flange that would then bolt up to and on the other end taper down to mate with the exhaust after it was cut... Iam really looking forward to the exhaust I ordered from your company and will do a full write up when it arrives...

Thank you for your business, it is greatly appreciated. We also look forward to getting your exhaust system to you.

Cool, thanks Tony. I have been contemplating getting a spot in line for the 3" exhaust, but I am curious what power gains I will see and whether it is worth making the change. We'll be in contact as I get closer to my completion date.

Sounds like a plan.
