filter socks worth it?

Is it worth it to run a filter socks on a turbo Z?

Not really. I've driven in miami weather when it pours, humidity. . Everything except the cold weather and I've had no problem with my ride.

I have those on my filters and I don't see why it couldn't hurt as a precautionary measure.

I run then not really for the water aspect but more for the fact that it increases the filter cleaning interval by 100%

Zero

I think K&N says 99.99% flow rate

I've seen dynos where the sock filter has cut 20hp. It's like putting a mask on and breathing. Its efficient at filtering crap but blocks more air as well.

If it's for peace of mind then you should absolutely do it. Safety always first.

Mpg goes down to. Its like a dirty filter.

DEpointfive0 07-05-2013 11:59 PM

WHAT? I use the K&N ones, there really isn't any restriction.
Hell, I got 322WHP on an auto and I hit the speed limiter, so I HIGHLY doubt I'm losing 20HP

Just stating my boys personal experience
