APS 3.5 Downpipe Fitment on GTM?

Wanting to see if anyone knows if the aps 3.5' downpipes for the 350z tt kit will fit the gtm tt kit? The exhaust side looks the same but I may be wrong.

Why do all your threads compare old APS parts for a 350 to GTM 370 parts/kits? Did you find an APS kit for a 350 in your closet?

COSMO 03-03-2013 09:20 AM

Not true but hey man no one is twisting your arm forcing you to reading my post. Iam trying to save some money on a bigger downpipe..:tiphat:

O&G 03-03-2013 09:36 AM

I never said I didn't like your post, I'm just curious to all your recent questions? Don't get mad... 3.5" huh, going big powa on a built motor?

COSMO 03-03-2013 10:03 AM

Iam in the process of my 3rd TT install so no need to exchange wits just for arguement sake.. But no, Iam just sticking with the stock block for now unless something goes Boom later.. The reason Iam asking about the aps dp's is because its half the price compared to the gtm ones... Should have my gtm finished in about 2 weeks give or take and just dont want to have to go back and do anything twice. And yes, I do over think things sometimes.........................

SS_Firehawk 03-03-2013 11:09 AM

I have a hard time believing GTM will verify fitment, and will most likely say no. It's bad business when they sell the same thing that they guarantee fits. The turbo manifold they use must be in the same exact position on both the APS and GTM kit which I have a difficult time believing they are.

COSMO 03-03-2013 11:15 AM

I have to agree but I figure since both pipes have to line up with the exhaust it might be possible. Iam No Iam wasnt asking gtm to referrence this because I understand from a business stand point to want to sell your own items first.. common sense, duh.

SS_Firehawk 03-03-2013 11:17 AM

It's the mounting point to the turbo where the issue would be.

Very interesting tho. Gtm charges a arm and leg for theres. If you find out please let me know. I may just buy some pipe and flanges and do my own because the 2.5 inch gtm pipes dont match up well with my greddys and im constantly dealing with exaust leaks. Of course thats not gtms fault for the record the pipes are done well. Just different manufacturers.

O&G 03-03-2013 12:39 PM

Yea, GTM parts are not cheep but they're made well. I was always a fan of the APS 350 kit.

LafitteZ 03-03-2013 12:46 PM

yea im surprised they didnt come out with a 370z kit. they had pretty good success with the 350z

COSMO 03-03-2013 02:21 PM

I was very please with my apt tt when I had and 350z and it is still on the road running today to the doctor I sold it too.

That's not even bad. It's there shipping that is flat out most retard system I've ever seen.

COSMO 03-03-2013 05:24 PM

Well in their defense shipping seems like it keeps getting higher and higher due to gas prices. Spohn I have the 2.5 gtm test pipes I bought from you but its funny because one end measure 2.5 id and the other end measures 2.25. Hell I'll prob just bite the bullet and just buy the gtm ones....

SPOHN 03-03-2013 05:30 PM

It's not went higher. Hell it's to high as is. Example, two Greddy gauge holders cost $5 each. Weigh hardly 5oz. $40 shipping.

COSMO 03-03-2013 06:59 PM

Yea I hate to say it but some company's do fudge on the shipping for a little extra dough... I research everything before I buy because money is tight these days... Iam hoping in about 5 years I can pickup a 2012 gtr for a decent price.

COSMO 03-05-2013 08:14 PM

Well at this point I think Iam going to contact aps to just see if anyone has tried to fit their 3.5' downpipes to the gtm kit. I was quoted $543 shipped for the 3' gtm ones. Does that sound a bit high for downpipes or is it just me???

Correct me if Iam wrong but isnt both kits designed to work with the factory exhaust? Now I know the 350z is not a 370z but Iam wondering if might work.. Hey is there a way to plug those open dump ports?? Also check and see if the drivers side has a notch into the piping to clear the steering colum...

elperuano 03-06-2013 07:35 PM

Should go into this project expecting to modify the downpipes. I highly doubt they would jus bolt upright. No way of telling until ur at that point.
Also no one has done this before so no one can tell you.

COSMO 03-06-2013 08:04 PM

Hey O&G pm me on a price for just the pipes...

O&G 03-06-2013 08:39 PM
