Better to be safe than sorry. You technically don't need gauges or a custom tune or upgraded plugs. Does it make it safer to have em? Absolutely.
Makes me feel a lot better when I'm smashin the gas pedal also.. Peace of mind goes a looong way.
Besides plugs aren't that expensive. At this stage of the game no need to skimp out on that part. U should have extra coin lying around for emergency situations anyways.

Umm 9 is not the heat it puts off . The higher the number the colder the plug. If you are buying "hot" plugs and putting them in a turbo charged car you are asking for problems. That's why when you turbocharge a car or supercharge a car the colder the plug the faster it releases heat from the cylinder chamber. Which is what you want when you are boosting like hell. Just saying....:tiphat:

Hmmm I thought it was higher their number hotter the plug, I also thought the z came with 9, I guess that's why I thought higher was hotter.

TerribleONE 02-25-2013 03:48 PM

Other way around.

Nahh , there should be a number somewhere on the plug to let you know the heat level. I'd have to look it up but I would guess they use the hot plugs from the factory since they are better for stop and go traffic. I put the 9's in my car for the "just in case" factor. I may not need it but when they cost the same as the 8's. Why not.

I went with HKS 50003-M45HL 2steps colder, heat range 9. Better be safe than sorry.

Might have to get with me in PM's. GTM has my car and all the parts. I saw the new spark plugs in the invoice.

I'm heading there on the 20th of march if you need any parts picked up or shipped out bro let me know. If it will fit with the extra parts I'm hauling back to AZ with me I can grab it and ship it out for ya. Just saying. Oh and did you get confirmation on the clutch from Sam? I forgot to ask when I talk to him today. Was suppose to be there saturday.

yeah. I just got an email yesterday. NST pulley's and belt if they are off the car and still in good condition and AEM intakes I have buyers waiting on them already. I'll let you know. Mike is usually the one I've been talking to, he sent me a picture of my car torn down. Radiator looked drained, intakes removed, manifold removed, oil cooler removed, front bumper and crash bar removed, that's all I could really see in the pic. I posted it in my build thread.

Ya sounds good. How the heck did u get pics of your car? Nex had pics of his gauges being installed. My car must be like the red headed step child or Sam is mad at me hahaha he did say the motor was back in and they are waiting for the gt3071 to come in and need to finish the GTR intake manifold.

I asked about 50 times. Mike said the guy installing it is balls to the wall right now with it. He had a hard time getting to it without getting in the way. He finally caught the car alone long enough to take a snap.
