Being one of the stroker kit owners:

The larger displacement increases the exhaust gas flow. What you have to take into consideration is what turbo or SC'er is the correct size for the displacement. I am running two GTX35R turbos on the 4.5L and it has a similar spool response as the GT28's did on the stock motor. check the video below at 53 secs in you will see my low boost setting on the stock intake manifold. This should give you an idea of what a proper sized turbo to displacement should look like.

With the stroker kits if you go 4.2L you will not have to sleeve the block. However, with the 4.5L you do and this comes with the expense of much more HEAT!!! We had to go with a full race radiator to make it manageable. I still have to talk to Sam to see if there is a way to save my A/C on my build. I believe he removed the A/C compressor so I will need to find a way to squeeze that bugger back in between the cooling mods.

A 4.2L you could get away with the CSF radiator and I highly recommend it! Great Product and Great Customer Service!!!

What's the mid boost high boost numbers and graphs ? I have a really hard time believing that 1000 whp can be made with T25 flange because of back pressure.

I would love to see this even though you have a 4.5 liter ,witch I think is the only way to get achieve or get close to 1000whp on these car's

Both GTM and Brian Crower offer some pretty attractive kits.

i have only seen the gtm kit but i personally am saving up for the 4.5 stroker kit granted my build plans are all motor

iirc you will see about 490hp with just the kit, nothing else but im not sure

edit, just saw someone else posted about the stroker kit, looks like im going with the 4.2L cause i want AC

for an NA setup definitely go 4.2L!!! You will see 400hp with that crate motor :tiphat:

seriously? now im excited >_< lol

any other supporting mods you recommend(aside from oil cooler, trans cooler, radiator)

oh should i upgrade the brakes as well? i have a stock nismo 370z at the moment and so far i love the brakes on there but idk if it can handle that power and stop me safely

scth83 12-01-2012 08:55 PM

I am having mine done by GTM, 4.5L stroker, ITBs, Dry sump system. It would be done in Jan2013.

what type of tires do you use ?

Are you going to TX2k? You should.

Mr.Squeeze 12-02-2012 10:35 AM

Wiseco 10:1 custom pistons
Eagle Rods
ARP L19 Head Studs
New Stock OEM Head gasket
Calico coated OEM bearings
Deatschwerks 850cc Injectors
CJM Motorsports Twin fuel pump
CJM fuel Return system
GTM fuel Rails
Uprev GT Maf's
R/T Tuning fuel feed lines
HKS EVC S boost controller
South Bend TZR Stage two clutch Rated @ 650 RWTQ

This is pretty much what I have on my car to reach my goal of 700 whp on high boost on this engine , I have another long block that I will be building next winter . Now for people that want 550-600 whp the fuel system that I have on this list can be taken off . A simple 340 lph pump wired from the battery, and bigger 850cc injectors stock fuel rails can be used .

I would also choose the K1 rods over the Eagle rods, and off the shelf 9:1 Wisceo pistons to keep things simple.

Also you do not need to do anything to the head just leave it alone

Anyone know the stock sleeve power limit on the VQ37? I thought I stumbled across an 800-900 hp range for the HR motor...

This is something I would like to know my self ,however there aren't any guys pushing them on the 3.7. I will say this much there are a few DE engines that have been pushed that far though. I plan on pushing mine to around 22-23 psi ,and see where it lands.

DIGItonium 12-02-2012 12:31 PM

So you pretty much left the valve train alone with this build? I don't plan to push more than 600 whp. It would be fun to have a higher rev, but not sure how VVEL would cope with that.

No need to rev higher if your not making power up top just more stress. I have mine raised just a hair to 7800 rpm's, plus I have heard of the oil pumps on older VQ's letting go at high rpm's.

Maybe... depends on a lot of factors.

I run R-Comp racing tires in the rears or drag/street style rear tires. :tiphat:
