Thanks for the heads up, the car is actually running 9. We were just running 12 on the dyno to see what 9 psi would do in the last 1000 rpm because of that annoying drop off. Once the boost controller is here we will dyno the car at flat 9 and see what she does :happydance:

Waiting to see some vids of pulls with this kit!

McNeil370 07-02-2012 05:51 PM

moooooaaaaarrrrrrrrr vids :driving:

Boosted Performance 07-03-2012 12:59 PM

I think that James had some wideband issues, and it had to be re-calibrated. I am sure that once that is sorted out he will provide some more footage of the car in action.

McNeil370 07-03-2012 03:32 PM

ohh dear, hopefully its just a faulty sensor.

Sounds like re-calibrations was the issue, and I think he is installing a new (better) EBC.

McNeil370 07-03-2012 05:29 PM

sweet, the ebc should get rid of that high rpm boost drop.

any chance of an early release on the production kits

or just one for me :stirthepot:

I am hoping to get things moving sooner than I had anticipated. I should be well rested from the 3 week holiday coming up, so I will try to get the jigs built before September comes. Maybe some nice Christmas present going out...

The hard part will be the actual pipes before the turbo. Down pipe won't be that big of a deal.

McNeil370 07-03-2012 05:47 PM

awsome cant wait to buy
also would headers be good or bad, im thinking about picking a set up to go with my setup, but im kinda worried about cracking, anny suggestions

Sasha recommended that I go back to factory headers, I had stillen ones on. The car is going to produce so much power that the difference between headers would be very minimal.

As for vids I will try and get something up. I am not much of a speed deamon on the street and I probably won't make it to the track before my vacation. I am gone for two weeks at the end of July, so maybe the beginning of Aug for track vids.

McNeil370 07-03-2012 06:09 PM

sweet, thanks for the info, cancel the headers

cant wait to see those track vids

Boosted Performance 07-03-2012 10:46 PM

The OEM headers are fantastic, and will not hinder performance at all. The 350z headers on the other hand are just garbage.

Even with all the welding nonsense left inside the tubes? I've seen inside the stock ones when I have my LTH's installed and they were anything but smooth inside... :ugh2:

The primaries on the OEM header are equal length, decent size, and the collectors is 2.2" diameter. If there are a few inperfections from welding, it will not make a difference at all in the performance.

I've not heard any complaints about it yet.

Oh other than the No RHD and No AT but that won't affect you.

Plasmite 04-10-2014 04:51 PM

Nope it wont, but I am looking for longevity issues or whatever else.

It's hard to choose between this kit and the FI TT kit! lol

I have over 6k miles on it since I installed the BP kit. No issues other than sticking TiAL BOV springs (not BP's fault). The kit is very simple in terms of installation. If a problem or issue were to arise in the future, it would be very simple to trouble shoot and fix the problem as there is no need to pull the motor.

How did you find out it was sticking and what did you do to fix it?

blackonorange 04-10-2014 08:12 PM

Damn I thought the springs sticking was a turbosmart thing...

The car would lean out at idle and stall unless I gave it some throttle. After some trouble shooting with the engine running I noticed a different noise coming from the BOV's, then I noticed they were stuck open.

The fix?

I emailed TiAL for a solution, because after a quick Google search, I noticed this seems to be a common issue. There has been no response from TiAL I have emailed several times, no response. They don't have a phone number listed so I can't even call them.

Bottom line, not fixed yet.

Seems to be the only way to fix the issue...

TopgunZ 04-10-2014 09:21 PM

Were everyones oil lines and pipes labeled? Mine werent and now im hitting some problems because of it. The manual shows the oil lines off the sandwich plate running two different ways and now the way I ran mine are in the way of the charge pipe. Not even sure my charge pipe is in the right way as of now.

That's fine but I can't get anyone from TiAL to respond. I can't order replacement parts to repair my like new BOV's. :ugh2:

Plasmite 04-10-2014 10:54 PM

hmmm

So what other BOV's are compatible with this kit?
