will i need A/F sensors and box
Hey guys if im going FI, and purchase the blitz touch brain or any reader, will i need to purchase an O2 sensor cable and sensor box to hook it up to the system for it to read the A/F, or can i use the existing O2 sensors that are alread on the car to hook it up to the reader, the sensor and box cost something close to 600$ so im hoping that i wont need to purchase that part.

This is something I ran into as I have gauges that read the factory O2 sensors.....
The factory o2 sensors are not true widebands, and therefore I would recommend an aftermarket sensor. Depending on the system (i don't know blitz at all) i chose to go with the innovative lc-1 as it has a 5v out that will work with most digital gauges/systems |
Ohh ok thank you for the advice so I should buy the extra a/f box, can you please show me what you are running to monitor you af bosst etc
|
factory sensors are wideband. I am reading them through obd2 using dashcommand and when comparing the readings to my innovate mtx-l they are very similar if not the same. I keep the actual gauge on the glove box just for peace of mind but I mostly go by the stock sensors.
What happened to the JUN cams? |
So there will be no need to purchase the a/f box ?

Depends on the system you go with. Blitz R-VIT DS does not require additional sensors to read from AF from OBD2. HKS Camp 2 does.
What I do, like mentioned above, is read AF via OBD2 using DashCommand installed on a CarPC and keep a standalone AFR gauge on the glove box. |
What about the blitz touch brain? Vit ds has been discontinued

Looks like it should work without any additional sensors, you will need a sensor for boost though.

Thanx a lot for clearing that up bro, what about boost sensors I'll deff need that right
|
Correct, you will need additional sensors for anything that OBD2 doesn't provide. Boost, oil temp, oil pressure, fuel temp, exh temp etc etc.
|
Cool thanx Ron for your help, don't our cars already read oil temp? Will I need all of that for FI?
|
It does read it but it is not an OBD2 parameter, there is a separate sensor for it. I am still using the stock gauge to monitor oil temps.
|
Thanx man a lot, so a/f reading and boost should be enough for starters and can get everything later on, thanx again bro for clearing everything up rep coming ur way:D
|
Anytime man :tiphat:
This is what I am monitoring on my system, plus oil temp on the stock gauge: http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...3/IMG_1625.jpg |
