I just wanna clarify. Baker Tuning does not "tune" per say. Yes Jason is amazing (hence why he has my car now for TT install) and he works with Sam by data logging and making adjustments but the dealership has no dyno nor tuning services...yet.

Carry on.. sorry to hear about your car wow.

Man, this is why i dont want to go forced induction :(

There have been plenty of vehicles that have been boosted with nothing but success. You just need to do your research before taking the plunge. My mechanic doing my install is dedicated and will over-check his work numerous times, not anything short of perfect. His tuner is amazing as well. Only person at this point I trust with my car.

Sam@GTM is a very good tuner and knows his stuff, so you may just be better off using a turn-key kit which already comes with the canned tune. That way, a competent mechanic can do the install and Sam will send you the tune. :)

I have learned alot since taking the FI plunge.

I have learned that money rules all at some shops. HP Logic taught me that well.

I had to wait 30 minutes at the shop because an owner with a GTR (older gentleman) with no appointment was getting a Cobb reflash, I won't even mention how much the customer was charged for the simple plug and play reflash.

I drove 1.5 hours to get their for my appointment but wait another 35 minutes.

Just little things like that business owners should be aware of.

Just noticed this thread, haven't bothered to read the intervening pages :).

UpRev has had the very easy ability to tune the torque map on the 7AT for a *long* time now. It wasn't remotely a new feature when you were going through this. I've talked to UpRev on the phone about this feature in the past and dug into it a lot. The bottom line is that FI + 7AT cars really *need* the torque map tuned, it's not really an option to not do so. That's at a minimum; some would argue you still also need internals upgrades, depending on the power level and usage patterns.

It's also dead simple. With a full Tuner license for UpRev, you can do it yourself on the street without a dyno, just by watching the clutch slip data via Cipher while you drive around, and adjusting torque map values upwards until it stops slipping. That's not to say you should have done this yourself: you paid them to tune your car, and setting up the torque map should've been part of the process. As a consumer you aren't expected to know the fine details of tuning this car.

That the light bulb didn't go on even when you pointed this out to them is ridiculous. I'd go after them for the transmission replacement costs.

^ This. I work on my own car pretty much exclusively because I don't trust anyone else. Jason @ Baker is actually the only person who's done any real work on my car other than me, and he did a fine job.

I completely agree. In the end, no matter who was right or wrong, the seller should exhaust every option to try and make the customer happy.

Whoa man sounds like a real shitty situation for anyone to be in. However, I would like to just put my 2 cents in here.

I got tuned at HPLogic and have known Jack for a while. My tune certainly didn't take 25 minutes and wasn't done in 3 runs as others have said. I was there with a friend for a bit while Jack did his thing. Results were noticeable and felt good (to me at least).

Granted, my car isn't FI and there didn't seem to be much to do tuning wise from any other bolt on 370z that came in. Every dyno he did, I did see the power going up until it plateaued. But this was my experience.

w.o.w. regardless of what happened with jnaut or jack, your situation really just sucks. Doesn't matter who it is, I, personally, would have lost my ****. I hope whatever the issue is or whatever the problems are get fixed. I met you once (thanks for the exhaust btw:)) and you seemed like a cool guy. That said, Jack always came across as a straight forward cool guy as well. But really, only 2-3 people know the full situation. I would hope they would reach out to you to try to resolve the conflict.

BUTTTTT do explain more about this p2a00 code, as I also have it. I'm not sure how a tune in general would cause this (I have seen stock cars and other cars from other tuners throw this code).

Did 2 pages jus get deleted? That was good reading and informed a lot of people of the douches here on this board. He must have been an HP Logic fan

Thanks for the heads up! Sorry you had to learn a painful lesson. Attitude is everything and some people are very lacking

I've had a couple of cars tuned by HP Logic/ Jack, the 370z being one of them...tuned NA and with the stillen SC. While I do feel a bit like a couple other people here that $300 is on the expensive side for such a short tune, I've never really had a bad experience with the results. It feels like It takes longer to strap the car down to the dyno than to get tuned.. My supercharger tune was done I think in 4 runs from a very basic map, sure made me wonder if Jack had missed anything and a little weary considering all the bad rep the stillen kit was getting. Nope, the car ran perfectly from the day I got the first tune until the day I took the kit off. Whatever he did in those 20 minutes worked great for me and so I can't say anything negative about it. Both Gus and Jack have always been friendly towards me and have always treated me well at their shop. I can understand the argument that he's done so many similar cars that its relatively easy to tweak another map in a few runs and be done with it.

As far as JNAUT is concerned, I dealt with Jay for about a year...he worked on my car a lot, did a lot of installs and installed/uninstalled my supercharger. When we first started working he was very quick and responsive. My supercharger took a few weeks, but thats OK, I wanted it done perfect. It was perfect down to the T and when I took it to HPLogic it was perfectly ready to be tuned. By the end of our relationship though he became more and more patchy. The last big job he did for me was uninstall the SC and return me to stock...it took way way longer than expected. Customer service went to ****, no calls, terrible delays, no updates, wouldnt return calls/texts/e-mails, etc..you know the drill. Made me look terrible because there were people waiting for their parts from my partout and I was more than a month late on some...it got really bad at the end...he sold me and installed some completely trashed cats...used some random bolt to replace a transmission bolt, returned the car to me with scratched/curbed wheels, etc. To make a long story short the car came out well and has ran fine in stock form to this day...but I feel like I dodged a bullet because TravisJB, whom I recommended Jnaut to, was the next person to deal with Jason and lets just say I am immensely embarrassed to have recommended him. Same treatment + as some of you know some other really bad stuff that I can't get into becase that's up to Travis. Obviously I don't recommend him anymore. I feel like after a year+ of friendship, I was treated like a cheap customer and kicked out the back door...
