CBRich 06-15-2009 05:09 PM

For the kind of power numbers we're looking the price doesn't seem too crazy. I mean this is a full kit.

OK ... time for reality check ... one still needs to consider supporting mods such as instrumentation (hopefully no A-Pillar set-up;) ), AT cooler, AT shift kit, MT clutch upgrade, boost controller, etc.

Sure, the kit will run and will run great but you'll want to protect your investment. All in all, this is still much less than back in the old days of TT.

Wow, that's impressive, and a great price for all that power, great work guys

George, question though, lets say someone just wanted a mild bump in performance, around 400-450 RWHP. Would it be possible to get smaller turbo's and such to keep the cost down, and not have to replace the stock clutch (right away) etc. Or would price be about the same?

Reason I'm asking is that I think you could probably sell a lot more systems if the price were in the $5K - $7K range. similar to Supercharger price range.

here is the flaw in that argument or idea...

Say for instance someone produces a SC kit for 5999.00 and you buy it... Now you have to get it installed +$1500 and get a good tune +$1000... Where does that leave you?

Right at the exact same price for less power!!!

Go GTM or Go Home lol :happydance:

If you did your own install an had the tune as part of the S/C the price would be a bit lower. GTM would be a great kit for those turbo fanatics! S/C may not be equal in power but it has it's benefits too!

Smaller turbos aren't much cheaper.

Clutch life is also greatly dependent on how the car is driven.

Finally, no one knows how much a supercharged VHR will cost. Remember, it has dual throttle bodies instead of one on the DE. Stillen is suppossed to be working on one so we shall soon see how they are going to approach this and how much they will charge for the system.

edeeZee 06-23-2009 03:37 PM

Wanderleeeeeeeei Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilva!!!!

That set up is off the chains bro! Those pics with the body panels removed, tranny removed etc. are gorgeous. That is one clean looking turbo set up, no spaghetti or any of that.

What are 1/4 times for it?

I believe Christian's car is making the trip back east right now so he hasn't even driven it yet. The car has obviously never been tracked. Plus there is no way the stock tires are gonna hook up all that power anyways.;)

His car was shipped from MA to GTM in Southern CA who the work. They did the work on my car as well. There are also notable shops on the east coast too.

Infinite Speed & Performance Online Store Infinite Speed & Performance... ;)

With good fuel, it'll be interesting to see how much these blocks can/will take!? We're at 611rwhp now, if the true numbers turn out being around 100rw more without any mods to the long block... i can tell you now, that would take these cars on a whole different level* :)

That is very impressive!

joshj808 06-25-2009 10:46 AM

Well, im wondering about the tuning. It was tuned for 93 but all you can get in SoCal is 91 piss water. Did they have to retune it? What are the numbers now?

I couldn't stand living in California!

I love my Sunoco stations that sell 94.

You can get 100 unleaded that is street legal here. Just costs an arm and a leg to get. Then mix it with 91 to get the octane you desire. The car owner is not from Cali, so they tuned it for the 93 octane available to him.

Are you claiming they built this car? Your post is worded that way and I would appreciate if you edit it.

AM I missing something here? Every picture has GTM watermark on it and it was done in CA at GTM's workshop, how the heck that other tuner shop popped up?

Turbo Tuner, are you trying to drive traffic to your shop? please explain or I will have to take action..

I have to agree with George's, and this is his thread; George has always said it like it is—no more, no less.

Besides, I intend on eventually visiting George's shop just to see what's up with all his goodies!

CBRich 06-25-2009 09:08 PM

George, I'm curious about the reflash with Osiris. If I were to purchase this kit and have someone like Forged Performance do the install would they be able to flash it on their own? Is there a stand alone system out yet?

Agree 100%. Total breech of ethics. "we" could be interpreted as "we, the community have seen 611 whp," but that is a stretch of logic.

Turbo tuner could claim that he has no afiliation to infinite speed and performance, but if a pattern of self promotion occurred, can you just ban each user that does it? If enough "users," or user names start claiming that a certain business has achieved a proud accomplishment when it is really a product someone else's hard work, some people inevitably will believe the false claims.

That type of dishonesty shouldn't be tolerated even once.

WTF!?!?!?!? I was just responding to "370NUTS" who asked who in HIS area is capable of installing your kit! I referred ISP which is a very reputable local shop in MD which would have NO problem installing the GTM kit. The latter statement was stating "we" (as a community) have seen 611rwhp now... and it'll be interesting to see how much more these motors can/will take in their completely stockblock form (as in the motor modded by GTM in this very thread). WHEN did i say ISP is the shop which engineered and created this kit and for the record I'm not affiliated with ISP at all other than being a very satisfied customer of their work a while back... Hence, i will NOT change my post. Just ask the moderators on this site you guys have in your backpocket ($$$) to do it for you..;)

And Phimosis, what kind of weak, a$$-clown, gaypride-lawyer are u trying to convince us you are!? LOL. Stop trying to micro-analyze every single word & line of my completely innocent post (which actually was trying to help GTM sell a kit locally by setting up "370nuts" with a capable local installer) and try to ''build a case'' out of nothing* You're a joke bro...''for the record*'' ;)

And i thought supraforums was bad...lol.

travisjb 06-25-2009 11:32 PM

$0.02... reading through all these posts I have to agree that TT's post on ISP seemed reasonable... 370nuts did ask about shops in MD after all

but I'll also say that TT you might want to go easy... I mean you're like 10 posts in dude and you're already stepping on some of the more reputable ppl on this board... why not just say "you guys misunderstood..." and MOVE ON

They've done an F-Con V Pro (stand alone) in the VHR and I have an F-Con iS (piggy back) currently running in my HR.

I have plans to switch over to Osiris when they have time to squeeze me in over there.;)
