Interesting.. you got 11.74 at 117, and your best was 11.72 at 121.. Wondering if your new mods gained you low end Hp/TQ but lost high end?

There's something to that. John fattened it up and gave it a bit more torque. (down a full 1.0 in AFR's) Big gains in 60' times (3 x 1.7's") and to the 330 and eighth, and then it stops pulling so hard.

He did not want to see me burn it up. We have all next season to continue.

Listen to the run from the inside: it falls flat shifting to third and fourth. We need to get it on the dyno to verify.

Better safe than sorry.

Nix: Read the vid, my sig, and my posts in this thread.

Got it. AT would have sufficed too. Whatever.

Tried out the 305/35:19 mt great tire but can't get it to work with my setup.

So now for sale with approx 2 miles on them!

You really need at least 17s for a good launch. I wish I could find some 17s that would fit in the back.

I'm thinking about doing this ... However, I'm also thinking it might be better to get a 02 ZO6 and build it instead. If you guys are putting over $20K into making your Z's break into the 10's I'm thinking about buying another used Vette and dedicating it for the drags and throwing a Procharger on there.
I saw a Z with 550rwhp but, the guy had over $30K invested in the mods.

Before I bought the Z I considered selling all cars and buying a GTR. That was until I sat in one and calculated how much I'd have to give up to get one. Plus, I was thinking they had a rear seat. There isn't a usable rear seat in a GTR. You can't even put your kid in there. There is NO room for even their legs. like 1" (not kidding) of leg room. That really turned me off on the GTR.

I'll bet if you had SC that produced 550rwhp on a Z you'd best even a lightly modded GTR. Throw a set of TT's or big SC on Vette and you'd have the same fun.

Please share your experience here ....

I didn't read every page so excuse me if this is already posted... World's Greatest Drag Race! - YouTube
it's not just the power but how it's put to the pavement. For about 20k I can build a complete 9 second car but that's without charging myself for the labor.
1923 model T, 355 scb, magna charger, th350 and 10 bolt rear. 550hp@1600 lbs
no timeslips, not legal for the track but several races with 10 second cars confirmed my suspicions. (I know, no slips= bench racing)
