Unless you are a master at cutting and welding the charge and intake piping I don't see how you'd save a penny.

I can only speak for the GTM kit as that is what I have installed. There is very little room once you get the manifolds and turbos installed. I can't imagine having to bend and cut and weld all of the piping to fit. But I am no fabricator. I just turn wrenches once in a while. :D

Now, if you want to do this for no other reason then to say that you fabbed it yourself then I'd love to see what you come up with.

Believe me that I know nothing about welding or cutting, but still I wasn't thinking of doing that myself. I figured that a professional shop could make the piping and install for me.

So I was thinking the exact same thing. I wanted to buy all the parts and the go to a shop to do all the piping and tuning, but the thing is that it is going to be a lot cheaper since I can get things for Garret at pretty lower price. But if other issues will arise I guess the savings are not worth it.....

Another option is call sam and see if he will sell you a kit excluding the turbos if you think you can get the turbos cheeper your self. I am sure he would do it.

I can give it a try. That will definitely be the best approach for me.

thats not a bad idea. i mean anything small (say td04,5,6 housing) should work on there. we dont need to make much boost with these things
