Are test pipes ok with GTM supercharger stage 1?
Are test pipes ok with GTM supercharger stage 1?
I ordered test pipes with my GTM supercharger stage 1, will I be ok? Im currently running stock headers, stock pipe, with muffler delete (just piping that exits rear). |
You will be fine but very very loud. If you find it is too obnoxious you can add a muffler back in.
|
They'll be fine for a supercharger shouldn't have to do with the exhaust side like a turbo would.
But not sure if a supercharger will quiet down the exhaust a little. I know a turbo does. |
two answers and they are only partially right. I would call Sam and make sure he says TP are ok. The exhaust has alot to do with this SC. However I believe Sam has figured out the original issues he had with my SC and the LTH not allowing enough boost. Plz call Sam he will tell you whats what. This is an actual answer for a person with a SC from GTM and ran into issue swith LTH. I am 99% you are fine now but again Call Sam @ GTM. He will give you the 100% correct answer no BS

Exhaust sound will be the same after you add a SC since nothing is altering the exhaust side.
I ran LTH with my Stage 1 fine and the setup worked great together. |
^^^ waiting for you to chime in.
Trust this guy no need to call Sam now |

Yea, I would at least buy a good exhaust considering.

how's the car running ? Z |
I have Fast Intensions resonated test pipes running with the GTM stage 1 SC. They work great together (no codes and nearly 8psi). Getting the cats out of the way gives the car a sweet exhaust note (I still have the stock Nismo exhaust after the TP's). The exhaust smell is more pronounced, but not obnoxious. You also get a sweet back pressure growl when you downshift.

GTM Stg1 here with Fast Intentions TP's and Tanabe y-pipe/exhaust. Not overly loud and no issues.
I believe the white Nismo that GTM did the install themselves on was running TP's as well. |
