Performance Motorsport: GTM TT NISMO build progress

Another GTM Twin Turbo 370Z NISMO about to hit the streets soon. I have been following the build on this taking both photos and video. Once it is completed and tuned I will be releasing the video. Until then, I will be constantly updating this thread with new pictures here in the first post.

Here is the car before it went under the knife:

when spending $15k on TT's, $200 for Tp's is pretty insignificant ha

So does the GTM kit come with the Turbosmart wastegates?

Also is the OP getting any clutch upgrades?

Why is the welds on the driver side down pipe so much different from the other side? Sort of looks bad, like it was bend in also.

We offer both Turbosmart and TiAl and they are both 38mm high quality wastegates. There is no disadvantage between either option. Turbosmart wastegate is a little smaller and makes packaging in the engine bay easier. One of the reasons of us offering another option is due to a longer lead time with TiAL products. Everything from TiAl has to be built whereas Turbosmart is on the shelf.

As for the different welds between the driver side and passenger side down pipes, every item on the kit from downpipes to intercooler piping is verifed on a jig for proper fitment. Sometimes, we have to do some adjustment before we ship them out to ensure proper fitment. By doing so, we do lose some of the "bling factor". Personally, I'd rather have a perfect fitting part than a shiny part that doesn't fit. That is what you are seeing in the picture. That said, it's a dump tube that no-one will ever see when you pop the hood.

Sam

Mad props to Performance Motorsport East! Keep up the good work and thank you very much.

I was leaning towards fitment anyways. Long as the smoke test passes I'm good. Just curious. I'll still take one.

I just wish it was a open dump on this car.

Is the internal WG welded shut? Why even bother with that outlet if going external WG?

This is the only way the GT28 housing are offered from Garrett.

dnasty370z 06-25-2011 07:51 PM

wow who's sweet black zo6 is that in the background?>

red6spd 06-26-2011 06:37 AM

I hate you guys. Ever since I started hanging around with performance I have been thinking of ways I can come up with 10k+ quick and have a TT setup done on my Z. Then I have to think of a way to tell my GF why almost 500 wheel is more important then getting a house and paying back student loans etc LOL

Oh. Looks like you need to just bump up to GT30R! Did you consider GT30R with .62 hotside?

Not yet. It will be a bit till it's released. The car isn't 100% finished yet. Bumpers and stuff are at the body shop being painted and wheels are on order.
