First 370 FI Roadster??
Well the SC build is done with only one issue. That being that the power steering cooler in the 2010 Roadster is longer than the ones from the 09 370s so the bracket does not fit. I used an old drag racer trick to get it bodged up behind the intercooler.
Started right up Sat May 15th at 4:35 PM... I would like to thank Alberto from the 350Z forum for two days of wrenching help, and my buddy Mike for coming over and giving me a hand on day one with the injectors. I also got a lot of moral support from Fezzik when I was having issues... I would also like to thank Sam at GTM for putting up with me while I was being a little b1tch about things not going in right, as well as not noticing about the nut on that one bolt... The fitment was great except that the tolerances are very tight on the brackets so it made for some choice verbiage while doing the install. It also looks like I tried to take on a Honey Badger with my hands, but I am sure that I gave enough blood to appease the car gods. No numbers yet as I won't have a chance to get it on the Dyno till after ZdayZ. I have it already broken in and the Air Fuel looks to be spot on as far as the install manual is concerned. Alberto and I are going to do some pulls to make sure it looks good to him later today. http://www.limpidity.org/images/Zpics/BoostedZ6.jpg http://www.limpidity.org/images/Zpics/BoostedZ2.jpg http://www.limpidity.org/images/Zpics/BoostedZ4.jpg |
Car looks great!!
How does it feel compared to stock? Is it a huge difference? Does the power come on smoothly throughout the rpm's or stronger on one end or the other? |
Nice I've been waitng for somene to do an F.I. on a vert.
|
hey man, i just decided to pull the trigger on a SC as well.
is yours a 6mt or 7at? how does it sound under WOT? I drove in a TT with open dumps, and it was the craziest sounding car i have ever been in. I really want something close to this. Thanks |
It sounds like an F16 on afterburners... Pulls like mad also.
If you want something that sounds crazy at boost you will not be disappointed. Not sure how much my wife is going to like it. She has not had a ride yet... Mine is a manual, as if there was another transmission... |

Kirk, repped for a very impressive and successful self-installed SC build and congrats on being the very first 370 FI roadster :tiphat:
|
Nice! I have the same color, but a coupe. So that front shot shows me exactly what mine will look like if i get a GTM kit :)
|
Kirk, congratulations! Looking forward to seeing and hearing this new beast on Wednesday morning.:driving:

Nice Job!

Congrats, there is a roadster SC in Houston that Baker did about a month ago.
Still never got a ride in it, wonder how it all sounds with the top down. |

First post, heh...
Ive installed a few FI kits on non FI cars, and none of them have been without issue. At some point, something in the directions seems backwards, or some parts may be missing, or some may not fit, in that regard the kit was no different. This kit had a good set of directions, the color pics helped a ton. The overall kit is nice, the S/C bracket is beautifully CNC'd, most of the parts and even the hardware is labeled, I was honestly impressed. If only GTM made motors this good (Hi Sam) Went out for a ride yesterday, and the experience the car gives you being a drop top is just awesome. It brings a new level of involvement to the car, especially with that S/C making noise all time. It sounds like a plane on a runway getting the turbines up to speed, pretty bada$$. Looking at Osiris, the A/F was right on cruising, but pegged at 10.25:1 under all WOT, then the manual states the car is running 1pt richer. If that is true that is much too rich, but that car wouldn't have pulled how it did with its A/F in the 9's or even that low in the 10's, I don trust factory gauges for something like this. Kirks wideband install after ZdayZ or a dyno will confirm the nature of the A/F, there certainly was no detonation or hiccups in that tune. Its truly amazing that GTM can offer a kit with a quick flash tune, that will allow you to take it out, and enjoy the car, it truly is awesome. Gone are the days of installing a FI kit and IMMEDIATELY having to go to a tuner because the car barely turns on, let alone run. That's not to say most shouldn't have these tunes checked, but that is for another thread. Well done GTM. This is now the 2nd time I have been impressed by one of your kits, the other my friends Stage 2 TT G37. Kirk, have fun brother, wish I could join you at ZdayZ but you know how that goes..... |
Congrats Kirk and who is this noob with 1 post lol.
|
awesome man, glad you got it done.. So how long did it take you guys?
|
With the issues we had on the tight tolerances on the brackets it was somewhere around 25 wrenching hours. Glad that it is done and running...

Can't wait to see your car at ZdayZ.

Dude. Great job. It's the best feeling in the world to start her up after doing a lot of hard labor yourself.

Especially seeing the supercharger suck up the rotex traction fluid and heating up the supercharger oil cooler, I was worried about that part more than anything as it is a PITA to get to those lines... |
Had a ride in this yesterday. She's a beast, Kirk!
