ok, guys the base tune was installed to keep it safe to drive. There were zero issues with the install but the waste gates are allowing to much boost. Im going to pull them off tomorrow and check the spring pressures and re adjust them. it spiked to 11 psi for a split second then we shut it down. This is not a big ill have it squared away tomorrow then we will have the actual numbers, but it did make 300hp @ 4k rpm. ill have videos up tomorrow, the car sounds amazing. such a piece of art work . congrats billy :)

Small issue...can't wait to see what the final numbers are!

Ps I made 411hp @4700rpms before the MAF was maxed out:eek:

wow, its been a big week for turbo 370Z's!

congrats billy!

hahaha

jnaut 05-13-2011 08:47 PM

ryan , you are correct as it is a small issue as it runs and drive like stock .

How much boost are you guys planning to run? The shop working on my car is planning to set it to the absolute minimum (6.5 PSI?) with this kit. Since I won't be getting an EVC, I may make the best of this kit and at least switch out the stock cats for an F.I. HFC.

So I'm assuming this is going to be close to 450 whp on 91 octane?

BTW... how does the car cope with boost spike or creep as mentioned?

jnaut 05-14-2011 01:43 PM

All issues have been corrected, we are going back to the rollers in an hour or so. Right now its set at 6 psi, we will see how the tuning goes possible turn up the boost a little.

Yes i would suggest a high flow cat or TP, we do have 93 octane here but we will not see 450 hp on this very low reading mustang dyno, atleast not at 6 psi. If you run a EBC your boost creep should not be an issue as spiking it will a little bit but settle back at the 6psi mark.

tranceformer 05-14-2011 01:57 PM

Maybe this one won't spin on the dyno like that last GTM TT 370Z!! :icon17:

Oops! I was speaking with incorrect assumptions. I should've meant 100-150 whp gain at 6-6.5 PSI. Hopefully I can get away without an EBC to keep things simple for this daily driver... it's not driven very hard, but the extra pep is nice when getting on the freeway, brief passes, and going through an intersection (i.e., this car lacks a bit of low end grunt to move quickly off the line). :)

Some drive by vids please! I want to hear the sound. BTW... I may have missed it in this thread. What's the wastegate setup for this build? Just wondering if the OP will be able to hear the turbo spooling. It's hard to hear in some of the vids.

jnaut 05-14-2011 03:03 PM

He has internal waste gates, as for hearing the turbos no problem :)

yes, it spun the tires on the dyno this time also , hahaha

jnaut 05-14-2011 03:08 PM

ok, the results are in 441hp/332tq to the wheels @ 8.5 psi. Now remember this is on an extremely low reading mustang dyno. I feel its an honest assumption to say on a dynodynamic its output would be 470 to 480 hp to the wheel. Billy's cars in an animal, runs drives like stock until you get into the skinny pedal. :)
