JWT TT Kits Due End of Summer!!!

From JimWolfTechnology.com...

Sneak peak of the new '07+ VQ HR Twin Turbo System
Date:3/16/2009

For those who have been asking how the VQ HR JWT Twin Turbo Systems are progressing, here is a look at the prototype system on a test car. The production kits are scheduled for release in early summer ‘09, starting with the ‘07-‘08 Z. A 370Z version is anticipated for late summer based on demand.

That IC looks sick!

Late summer! I need one NOW!

I wouldn't really worry about the plastics under the hood. If he makes it like his 350Z kits, it will come with an oil pan spacer that will add about a quart of oil capacity to help with cooling.

If they say late summer, I'd put money on late winter/early next year.............by the time they get everything ironed out and tuned......

Be nice to see something sooner, but I wouldn't get my hopes up......

That is an awful lot of piping.

Any word on if it would be cali ok? I know JWT was trying to get carb for their single turbo for cali street use... bump for info :)

M.Bonanni 04-16-2009 12:36 PM

Probably not. I think Cali laws have gotten even more strict in the last few years.

M.Bonanni 04-17-2009 10:36 AM

Hahaha, thanks Jesse!

On my 350Z which has a JWT TT kit, we did just that. We kept a pop-charger CARB cert sticker on the shock tower in the engine bay, but you didn't hear that from me :).

Question for you Jesse. Isn't there something in Cali that says if you buy a brand new vehicle it doesn't have to be smog checked for like 5-6 years?

shabarivas 04-17-2009 01:14 PM

^ I believe that is true :)

I'm new to the Z car used to be a muscle car guy any guesses on whp? I don't have any knowledge on how the 350's were with the jwt turbos how bad is the lag?

M.Bonanni 04-17-2009 03:43 PM

If I had to guess, I would say between 430 and 500whp on stock motor + pump gas with a good tune. It will depend on how the VVEL system reacts and how much boost the stock internals can handle safely.

If JWT uses the same turbos as in his 350Z kits then they will spool VERY quickly. :)

I don't know why, but I've always hated the FMIC design. It just doesn't seem as efficient as it could be.

Do you know why they combine two cores side-by-side? Seems like the bumper would block more than half the airflow to each side.

Its a twin intercooler design. Basically each turbo has its own intercooler. :)
