Why? Aren't you supposed to dyno in the gear that is closest to a 1:1 ratio but not into overdrive. The 5th gear in the 6 speed is 1.00.

Correct. Lots of 5.0 GT owners were dynoing in 4th and making near 400whp. They then got a bunch of them to properly dyno in 5th and the average was more like 360whp. It matters.

Tuning out the top just takes time and each Z will all be different based on the mods done.

Yes and no, it matters on what type of dyno you are running the car on.

Why was Z1 turning out such choppy tunes previously? Just didn't take the time, or has there been more advancement in understanding the PCM as of late?

Z1 has been doing automatics from what I saw and Uprev recently found some more automatic tuning abilities, not saying it will help with the power curve being smoother.
Also, companies can 'smooth' the curve when viewed on the screen especially when done.

Not thread jacking. But we try to show people what we see. The last car had boost fluctuation. I spend a lot of time on the dyno.

Not saying anything bad about you guys.
I have been to almost all import shops where I live and used their dyno for one reason or another, it is interesting what some do to 'adjust' the results.

Wish I'd known the turn around time was 7 days instead of the 2-3 weeks that I was quoted. I was only in the US for a month, and wanted to actually have some fun with the car before I headed back overseas. Anyways the bolt-on's attracted enough unwanted attention so I guess it was for the best. Congrats on a clean build, but Im sure it will look even cleaner in black. :happydance:
