Studying deeper on this subject and for a not so big difference in price i think we'll opt for the turn key twin turbo kit, what do you guys think of it, is a good choice?
|
Depends on your goals, but the twin turbo kit has a LOT more growth potential for power output. The supercharger puts out good usable power that would be best suited to a low key street car or track car that is usually going to be on a lower speed road course or autocross situation. I don't think either is a bad choice but the twins would be my personal choice.

Now to the OP, with either kit GTM SC or TT you can't go wrong. Like others said you have more growth protential with the TT kit. Now keep in mind yes the price for the SC is a little less then the TT kit but the cost of installation is higher for the TT kit. Something for you to factor in so there are no suprises. Also with the TT kit you have to factor in some supporting mods such as possibly high flow cats or test pipes, a better exhaust system, and a boost controller. Now some others will till you that this stuff is not required but I highly recomend it and I treated it as a requirement. I did not mention the oil cooler because I think that is a requirement fr both kits. Also to add the installation time on the SC kit is a lot less then the installation time on the TT kit. Look at your options and set a goal. Don't just look at today but think of the future as to what you would like to do with the car. I say if you can be contampt and happy with staying around 450 hp then go with the SC. But if you think in a few years or somewhere else down the line you will want more then go with the TT. You will find that both will do the job well but which kit you get rests on your goals and what you desire in hp/tq. I hope this helps Frank |
Thanks for the explanation toner123.
Now why wouldn't the tuner kit require a fuel pump and larger injectors? |

Forgive me if this a Noob question:
Is it stupid to purchase the tuner kit and GTM's fuel pump and injectors? My thinking is that me being in Australia, an Australian spec 370Z might potentially be more difficult for GTM to tune. Maybe I'm wrong about this. So I thought that the tuner kit would provide the flexibility that may be required, yet I'm happy to go with GTM's standard kit and tune if possible. |

However if Sam does not have your ECU number listed, then you simply need to send him the ECU data and he'll crack the ECU and make a new ROM file for you. This basically allows you to modify and upload maps onto the ECU by unlocking it. This is done even on US ECU's. It's only a matter of whether your specific ECU part number has already been cracked or not. Once it's cracked, all you do is upload the maps that come with it and tuning is done. The maps and tuning software is the same for all ECU's. Unless you have the required fuel injectors, fuel pump and tuning software, then the turnkey kit is obviously the better choice in your situation. |
