I just hope the there isn't a ton of noise coming from the engine bay from the belts!
Like this I find that just annoying.. |
:icon14: eeeeekk!!
|
hahaha I don't think it will sound like that...
|
Yeah I sure as hell would hope it didn't sound like that! I couldn't live with that noise on my car even if it was like the most reliable 1000+HP car with 50+MPG and only cost $50 bucks to install!
But if it got me laid...... i might reconsider  |
A 6PSI supercharger will be quite quiet. You shouldn't hear anything until you're high in the RPMs. Daily driving a twin-screw S/C is like driving a non-S/C'd car... You won't even know it's there until you step on the gas.

Hmm how about dual Rotrex units like this...
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....engine-bay.jpg ETA: That silver one sounds louder than my 350 did when I put the Vortech on, wtf is up with his bypass valve? Mine was a pretty harsh woosh, it fluttered when I put the vac/boost lines on wrong. I like the sound personally! |
I figured I should post this here:
As far as exhaust size is concerned, what size exhaust would be ideal for a centrifugal supercharger? |
As i under stand it 2.5" should be fine. THe idea of a 3"+ on turbo apps is that it creates a low pressure area. The high pressure gases on the exhaust manifold side then rush over the turbines to the low pressure side (Highs to Lows always, basic physics) which moves more air faster over the turbine blades themselves (turbine blades are essential small lift producing devices) spooling it up faster.
I'm guessing 2.5 should be fine for a SC application but maybe a 2.75 would be better? Might have more to do with how much power you are trying to make and thus how much fuel you'll be burning. More fuel burned would equal more exhaust gas to flow, no? |
What kind of stats can we expect from the stillen s/c kit, any estimates on hp/tq, 0-60 times, etc...?

If you base it on the 350Z type of Supercharger then you would be seeing ruffly 80-100whp with complimenting bolt-ons Exhaust TP Headers DAN |
