Greddy TT

Anyone know anything about the Greddy TT? I have an offer to get one at a very discounted price by a shop here locally.

I would get it, it's what Forged Performance is using on their track car. The 20g is a great turbo and Greddy has been in the game for some time now so they know what's up. It's said to be good to 800+hp so it's got good range !

The kit looks great, it was featured in last months "D-Sport". But you really need to ask yourself if your car is ready... Do you have a good oil cooler? Even if you do it will probably need to be moved to accomodate the intercooler. Is your clutch ready for the extra work? Can the stock engine really handle being daily driven with a TT for the next 5 years or does it need rebuilding first?
All I'm saying is don't jump the gun, there is a lot to prepare for before going into dangerous, uncharted territory.

I dont know the exact price but I think they are hinting at 5K installed. Im going to talk to the store owner tomorrow and get all the low down. I will have to let them do some decals and probably do a show or two and some pics. I think they are say 450 @just 6.5 psi. up to 800 hp. I want 500 to the wheels if I do it.

No different than the other TTs on here by GTM and Stillen. Im sure they will do an oil cooler if not I can make them do one.

Im hoping 500 hp is not too much for the 7AT but if so then I will bump it down to 450. If I do this.

Will the 20G give me a lot of turbo lag or is it more low end turbo?

6.5 psi is a pretty low psi for 450hp so Im thinking it wouldnt be too bad, plus I dont keep cars for 5 yrs. If I do this I am going to try and get a low $$$ amount, dont really know the price as yet plus I will ned a LSD too.

The VHR will not explode at 6.5psi and 450whp, the carb legal superchargers from Stillen and GTM are boosting 8. There are a few TT'ed G37's doing 500+ daily driven and going strong. I think its a great deal Steve, as far as lag is concerned, Twin Turbos generally suffer much much less lag than a single turbo, and the 20G is on the smaller end which means you'll build boost much lower in the RPM band than one with a larger compressor. Whats great is that if you decide to build the engine later, the kit is rated to 850whp, all thats needed to upgrade is larger injectors and a boost controller, according to the Greddy website. If i would have been here another 2 months, i'd have been all over this. The stock clutch will hold well at 450whp as I've learned from reading on the G37 forum, good oil cooler and an LSD and you'll be all set. So they said 5k for everything?

Red370 04-08-2010 11:42 PM

man, you get this thing installed, you'll have one of the fastest street cars in the city for sure, I think you oughta call out that Luna Performance GT-R and shyt on him for screwing up your cats haha

Except GReddy wasn't even able to accomplish this on their HR, even for the DSPORT article. They blamed it on the intake manifold "swelling" if i remember correctly.

easily remedied with an aluminum manifold, which they are currently building.

I'm dropping in this post with my flame suite on.

IMO the Greddy turbo kit should be at the bottom of the list for any 350 and 370Z owner. The 370Z is far beyond what greddy uses in their turbo packages. And please stay away from the magazines trying to make it look better than it is. A local guy just laid down 720rwhp with his G37 on the VQ block with pump gas and meth. The local guy has a GTM kit and loves it.

Please give your Z what it needs a good BB kit.

FuszNissan 04-09-2010 08:06 AM

Greddy will be overpriced as well.

Greddy will probably cost about 16K installed.(I got a quote already) And I am sure you can go to some other tuners and get way more for your money...IMO.

I am with John on this one.

Red370 04-09-2010 08:16 AM

Keep in mind fellas that Steve would be receiving the kit for 5k, labor included in that price. The shop is affiliated with Greddy and is offering it greatly discounted for advertisement purposes, 5k for a twin turbo? i dont care what brand it is, thats a steal.
