:icon18::icon18::icon18: I need a minimum of 450-500... It will be nasty. I can't say that I have driven 450-500 hp on a car this size... most of the vehicles I drive with that kind of power are bigger.. A couple of vets that were realistically probably 400 rwhp. BMW M5 and other big engine Beamers. I drive an 04 Benz S600 a couple times a week with a mild tune.. don't know actual rwhp and when I get back in my car ITS JUST NOT THE SAME! I try to avoid driving it when I'm feeling power hungry cause it just makes me mad to get back in my car... but that 5,280 lb. (don't quote me) beast doesn't handle quite like the good ole' Z!...

bout to run to the gas station guys... is it sad that I'm still excited that I get to take my Z?:happydance:

edit: the torque on those v-8's and v-12 is just crazy compared to the Z....and that's what I need! I will settle for less than the hp discussed if there are no reliable options (IMO at that time)

I'm just checking. I know there are a lot of people here who are calling for huge numbers but probably don't even know what anything over 400whp feels like.

BlackCherryZ 02-03-2010 08:49 PM

i never had anything 450-500 RWHP....

just had stock 300zx (2), RX-7 twin turbo, pathfinder, maxima, TL, Avalon, S2000, Civic, Scion........ changed cars every 2 or so..... *^^*

well, in terms of RWHP, i just would like to have something that is capable.........

not that i will race everyday........but now and then, when you look to your right or left and you see a guy/gal with right thumb up.........i do not want to be intimidated.......

to be honest, i do not have a good street race history - lost every time i guess.....

but i was told that once you have the power under the hood, you tend to street race less........ of course, i am talking about daily drivers........... not street racers....

anyway, just want to go "nuts" before i get married or have other dire financial obligations..... i am thinking once you get married, you actually lose your freedom.... *^^*

Well if you haven't driven something with that much power you are probably going to **** your pants.

i really hope so............:nutswinger::inoutroflpuke::tup:

about 5 years ago, when i had my s2000, i had the pleasure of "tasting" about 400 RWHP S2K at inlinepro in VA.

the total asking cost was $9K including installation, tuning, and all the supporting mods.

i felt in love instantly, so i even put down a deposit........... my car would had been the first one to have that realm of RWHP for s2k............. this is about 5 years ago..........

but due to unexpected financial obligations, i had to withdrawal............

before purchasing my 370z, i had a big dilemma........s2k or z......

fyi, inlinepro is currently running 900+ RWHP s2ks..........

nonetheless, convertible is convertible.........the road noise is just unbearable to the unaccustomed........... so i decided on Z...............

but after the first wk, the road noise was the same............ but i had been accustomed to s2k, so i was ok.............

just crossing my fingers to have more ppl interested........... i am actually decent/good at negotiations, so we will just have to see....

Most people get used to that power level pretty fast. I have/had 3 vehicles over 500hp now at the wheels. What is scary is when people do power, but not tires, suspension, and brakes.

Question - is GTM going to ship their kit at first? I thought it would only be available for in house install initially?

we shall see.......... i am still waiting for the dyno results and PRICE :icon18:

even if it were designed to "only be available for in house install initially," i am pretty sure if there are many interested buyers, they could/will work something out....

so............come on ppl.................show more interest........ so that we all could be happier with more power........:iagree:

You know what I'm getting at, though... there are people who can barely handle their 332 hp and are already looking for 400+ whp. That's a scary thought.

I am in. I want a supercharger from either Stillen or GTM, at teh moment I am leaning towards GTM. I want a self install kit that I can do in my garage. I am thinking by this summer would be a good time for me.

When I was faced with the same dilemma, I made a hard choice... now the S has become the winter beater  I have to watch for snow on the ground, though, as the low lip (tough to see in the first pic) turns the car into a snowplow.

BC, where in VA are you? There's a really good, clean, multi-bay shop in VA that I've worked with for several years, not a single complaint against them that I'm aware of, and they will probably be my tuners for the Z (once I get around to installing the TT).

EDIT: I just remembered.. that first pic was taken while the S was sitting on their dyno in an enclosed, exhausted room.

very HARD to see when my eyes can go lower than the main bodies. HARD bodies I might add. So who cares about the front lip with that pic. lol

Thanks to some of the threads, I now have to put myself on this list of ppl interested a group buy for these things....

1. I wouldn't build it for another 6 months, but if I can get a deal I'll buy it tomorrow
(don't have the car yet).
2. Depends on cost, I would want a complete kit though, with some flexibility to fine tune according to my personal preferences.
3. Tuner, (assuming you mean who makes the kit, not who installs it) depending who comes out with the best kit, it's hard to say when they are still working on it.

(I would be looking for a good company to install it through, although depending on the build I could and might do it myself. I would be looking for a reputable company in Southern Mass. But I'll look into that once we hit that point, don't want to highjack the thread)

redzzand 02-16-2010 12:50 PM

Im in... should be buying soon within a few months...

1. A
2. TT
3. TUNER

kdoske 02-16-2010 01:15 PM

Just made up my mind. I'm in for the SC kit as long as it is in the 5-6k area.

docaam 02-24-2010 12:29 AM

Im in as well and wait for details

1) timeframe somewhere around july-august
2) Def. S/C
3) might come down to GTM or Stillen will follow the outcome and price

BlackCherryZ 03-05-2010 09:35 AM

since the pre-order price for GTM is very competitive, there is no valid point in organizing a group buy for GTM SC kit at this point.............also most likely for Stillen as well.......

per SAM at GTM, he will work out a group discount for TT kit..........so just hang tight......

i will update as needed and whenever i get a new info......

JB-370z 03-05-2010 02:05 PM

Sounds good I want GTM TT!

StillenZ 04-08-2010 08:28 PM

Wish someone would come out with an "affordable" (for me) turbo option! damnit

that is way too subjective *^^*

i do know what you are inferring........... i heard there will be a single turbo application some time soon........ should be much cheaper....... about 10K installed with supporting mods.........

we just have to wait and see...............

Single turbo or bust
